One advice would be to adjust your gamestyle.
If you stay long enough on one server, there is a good chance that you will find a squad who plays this like a sim. Then we have those other times, well ... you try to have fun untill the aforementioned show up.

We love the action style of BF2, as far as simulation is concerned PR offers a good balance of both worlds. I think i was just looking for an excuse to rant about those who dont quite grasp realism and fun combined.

iGi, thors and Helix are the ones to look out for eh? I checked out a stats page posted here a week or so ago, and i think it may be innaccurate somewhat. Check it out: -

I wouldn't think to much about PR stats now a days. ABR stats is hinky, but might be revived on a later date.

'[502nd wrote: Tonitrus']I was reading a post regarding ARMA and the use of tactics. And the only issue regarding ambushes and such, Is that most players will engage a target too early because they are 'realistically' in range. Thus, comprimising position and squad effectiveness. Please please please help me find like minded tactitioners! I am resonably new to the mod (and i love it). Just sick of rambo style kids getting me shot!

I've participated on 28CDM and THOR,
Anywhere else you can recommend server wise?

Join the tournament when second sign up starts.

Choose a team.

If you decide to use a lot of time and dedicate your self to the team and the tournament, i promise you that there will be plenty of tactically stuff to try out.

Who knows, maybe you even learn a trick or two during the campaign?

The four teams are all trying to work in a more tactically founded way than you will ever experience in a public server battle.

Btw: Nice to see this thread is still up running.

However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Hey all i'm fairly new to this mod(only been playing it a few months) and I find myself having trouble. I get killed often without knowing where the enemy is a lot of the time, and can't really get shots off on the enemy when I do see them(but usually thet spot me first though). Does anyone have any tips for this? Also I just try play as the standard rifleman to try to improve my playing and not do anything too fancy untill i get better. I love this mod and no matter how much *** I suck I am gonna keep playing and trying XD. Thanks all

Try not to use too obvious pathways on the map. Use cover and concealment when advancing. Get in a squad so you always have someone to back you up. Use smoke when needed. Try to out-think a enemy sniper up front if possible. Suppressing fire can to certain degree on public servers be used successfully.

Try to learn and read the maps for good/obvious sniper positions when you move from position A to B.

Single player mode can among other things to some degree be useful in order to try out positions and pathways.

Otherwise use the forum as you do now, search for the map/s where you always get spotted by the enemy before you can spot them.

Sometimes (If not always) you will find plenty of tips in how to stay alive on a individual map.

If you cant find info about a map and its good positions, then just post a related and precise question about a map.

Grid references/location names on a map can be helpful when asking on the forum.

Hope this helps you
