wood it at all be possibility to have a scuba diver kit i have a top idea for new map
i see another mod has submarines but is it possible to get a solder to swim under water with like some sneaky stuff just i thort

i don't like the idea of it being a kit but allowing special forces to dive under water i'm up for that but i think i can be do i have gotten under the water before just throw some mines on a boat stay in it don't move and it will sink, then you have a submarine that can't move or less in blows up.

maybe not a kit, but you could always have a small vehicle or something like that (which of course is able to go underwater) and you would need the diver kit to use the vehicle.

hardcoded i believe, but i seen screens of a mod that successfully made a sub that works under water.

so it could be difficult if not impossible

I would hate to see specificly the spec ops have this ability because they are already that "1337 solo uber sniper-scope, laser 1 man assault unique unit" which makes them an already overplayed kit in .5 and keeps alot of riff-raff comming back to PR.
Because of that, any time i see an SF i cant take him seriously.

Is it just me or do you two guys (Snake Doctor and Dreadnaught) only think from the side that benefits change? So you get the scuba diver... What are you going to use it for? Fishing? Sink the US Amphibious Helicopter Assault ship? Just how many people use boats nowadays? Silent insertions and evasive maneuvers might qualify as a reason but it's not good enough in my opinion.
And then think of the technical problems:
First off, the going underwater bit would have to be coded and a death timer would have to be added.
An animation for swimming underwater would be necessary as it would be plain wrong to use the normal swimming animation. This is the main reason for which there is no point in trying to do this, unless of course, you get the DEVs an animator.
For all I care, these Hollywood stunt abilities are completely useless and would obviously be a waste of time and resources.

Hardcoded as infantry can not go underwater (except at edge of map where there is basically no physics) but only vehciles can go underwater. Thats why i saw some mods have submarines. If you were to go "underwater" bailing out of a vehicle underwater you'd float up to the surface even with 70 lbs on your back :D

i do not no the uther guy plus u assk eny one thay seen me speco kit ancer is no i ues the engeners kit all time i like blow brigers and shit ther is nothing wrong with blowing a brige up thats ment be blown up i just think it wood be
and i had an idear for a close combat map
i ues botes all time love them infact its my favrot veacal spesly on basra

the new stargate mod managed to code a jumper that can fly plus dive into the water and navigate around.

but if it was implimented why not have a vehicle that looks like a swimsuit, and when you wear it you go 1st person with both your hands sticking out (wouldnt actually be you, would be the vehicle) one holding a spear gun and use vehicle controles to manouver rather then infantry controles,

then press 'e' to exit and you see the swimsuit where ever you left it.

vehicle health bar could be low enough so that 1 hit and its ripped and you die... due to exposure or something.

by the way subs are used extensively because they are now one of the most favoured methods of delivering missiles since the enemies are not meant to have any idea where they are launching from.

Well, I can't argue that US submarines, more specifically, the Virginia class, can deliver Navy SEALs while underwater, but that obviously wouldn't fit in with the rest of the game.
And as far as submarines using torpedoes and missiles to sink other ships is concerned, I think the last time that happened was during the Falkland's recapture by the British, when a Royal Navy submarine sank the General Belgrano, an Argentinian battleship. It was a very controversial event.
Back on topic:
Wouldn't being completely submerged make your weapon malfunction?
I still think the scuba guy at least is too eccentric for this mod.

its called dyslexia firestorm , and is actully easy to read, so i guess ur not native english and thats ok , if u r english then take the time to read it its not that hard

Ah, the sinking of the USS Pheonix. What the Japanese start, we finish :p

anyway, I dont think scuba divers are a good idea.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Its War deal with it, the Argies had it coming to them.

So if vehicles can go under water it'd be possible to add a seascooter that one could ride under water :smile: Pretty useless though IMO
