What if PR became a separate game?

Post by wakka3123 »

You know...like if it was completely gone from BF2...had its own engine and all... so that there wouldn't be hardcoded stuff... :p

im not a dev, but you're talking $$$,resources to design and create, market etc..as i mentioned, EA should have hired the PR devs in the first place.

hey every game ea comes out the mod comunity always finds away to make the game it self longer. But ea always trys to hard code there games. Take a look at BF2 it was created by mod team that created desert combat. DC back in the days was the shit then went main stream.

And then most of the original team quit EA and started their
own company, and our now making a game to rival the
Battlefield series under the title "Frontlines: Fuel of War".

To be honest, I don't want the development team to even
poke EA with a ten foot pole.

Only partially true.
DICE most probably noticed the popularity of DC and wanted to cash in on it and began to design the modern version of BF1942.
They ended up enlisting Trauma Studios to help develop the game.
DeliseF, trauma studios lead, said that they had a rather minor role in the development of BF2. This was some time ago and I don't have any links and since EA and DICE merged, DICEs' old website is gone as well... But if you go to the Old Desert Combat forums (if THAT is still up...) you can search there for what happened and when.

Everybody harps on EA for being such a bad company, but I think you're looking at them in the wrong aspect. EA pushes games to mass markets, not niche markets such as realistic warfare simulations. They're a business who wants to shoot for numbers and get as many people into the game as possible. I don't think they ever catered to a niche audience like Ubi Soft and others do.

If you don't like EAs games, don't buy them. But to constantly complain that they suck and they'll just screw it up b/c it's not the realistic warfare YOU want isn't really fair. It's like asking a Toyota to perform as a Ferrari. The brand itself was never designed for hardcore speed and ultra-tight cornering, it was designed for the masses to get around town. Same deal with EA and their games. If you want a heavier, niche focused product, look to other developers.

i would definently buy PR, if it was released... but i doubt thats going to happen.. So best i can offer at this time is Donating Money.. Because I know that those devs are doing everything for free.. atleast i belive so... But the Server for Website Costs, and the time and much more !! So Donating would help the devs along way
