Helicopters
I firstly like to say that i realy enjoy playing your mod.
It ads something to battlefield many of us have been waiting for,
it is realistic at most points, but the helicopters really don't fly like they are supposed to!
They accelerate to much and deaccelarate also to much!
Hovering is almost harder than in real life!
So I hope you guys will keep this in mind for a next release.

Acceleration ++ for choppers is a known issue. As El_Vikingo would say: SEARCH!
But anyway, welcome to the forums, and sorry about the harsh welcome. We get a lot of people suggesting things that's been suggested before.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

guys...
if we're talking about acceleration as a gameplay issue (e.g. making choppers able to survive in PR context).. then is ok.
so much acceleration is acceptable.
but if we're talking about REAL LIFE choppers then... is ABSOLUTLY irrealistic. let's fly in a real helicopter and then tell how are real flying dinamics...
other than that... yes, use search function!!

Also, in Arma, which is supposed to be THE standard in Realistic Gaming, it's nigh impossible to do it without the computer assistance (I sat there for half an hour gliding back and forth tweaking away at my mouse with the on-the-fly sensitivity at the lowest blowing on my mouse to make the most minor adjustments and never got it to hover.), and if it really is as easy as Eddie says, then your compliant is unfounded.
Acceleration just needs some getting used to and knowing not to take off with the gyroscope off by more than a centimeter.
The biggest problem us as a community has are on the Little Bird and other Recon hoppers. The skids seem to be uneven and always flip on any surface less than perfect. But that only happens like half the time, the rest is either a perfect landing, good "OH ****! ROLL OVER!" recovery, or not landing, just hover and drop them off.
But, a new problem, that I've found, is that the Black Hawk now lands front heavy and noses down when on the ground... Playing Kashan Desert with someone that isn't used to that and trying to pickup a good 20 guys... it was a massacrer... I had nightmares about it, it was that bad.

I typically stay quiet in theese discussions, but this topic has me very intrested so i registered to talk about it. I am actully in Army flight school right now i have about 35 hours in a helicopter. I want to say that everything they say is true it is much harder hovering in real life then in the game due to factors such as wind, enviorment, and weight the responses are simmilar but not quite as realistic, the only thing i would like to see changed is the abillity to drop the collective/throttle and actully decend... The coment about the scout helicopters is true but in real life the center of gravity in small helicopters such as the oh-58, is offset to the left thus 1 skid landing before the other, this happens from asymetrical loading and the transmission 1 inch left of the aircraft centerline. I love this game especially being able to do the same thing in the game as i am soon to do in my career! This game influenced me to become an Army Aviator and actully prepared me in some ways for flight school. oh and 400-500 knotts is way to fast for helicopters try 100-200

The problem with the collective controls on the choppers is there is no fine control. Your either going full up or full down, which can make it hard to make fine adjustments. The only way I can do it is to tap the W or S keys to make fine adjustments.
