The Forgoten Hero (operation Ghost Train)

Post by Danthesandman »

OK everyone heres something I've noticed About the Map Operation ghost train. Why is everyone so afraid of the Transport helecopters and flying them around. I mean, I know there is nearly no place at all to land without crashing but why do you have to land?

Heres a great Tactic for a squad that is working together. the squad leader is to go as the pilot of the Hele and the rest of the squad goes as RPG and they all get in the hele. Now both guns should be manned simply because their good. With whatever squad members are left look out any door the can get a seat at and start firing. with this setup in the hele you are now an AIR SUPPORT. just hover around any flag that needs a clearing out and the gunner will pepper the infantry excaping and the RPG's will clear out large groups. Also remember that the RPG's will keep getting ammo from the hele. And if your worried about them shooting at you the squad leader is flying so u can spawn back in the hele.

So wat do you think?... and yes I know. Its Forgotten.

L-AT is limited in .6
doesn't seem to realistic either, the choppers get you from point A to point B
not from point A in a circle whilest spamming L-AT

in the tourney we were brits and the chinese had their chopper dropping c4 out onto our positions and blowing us up lol, so we retaliated and got heavy at in ours and did some sniping, yeh they are really good actually for theose purposes its just getting a squad to coporate and have exclusive controle over the chopper.

Some people use it off for their own little world, crash them in the water or fly out of bounds that you die. The point in transport choppers is to get a squad from 1 point to the next. And i dont find it helpful for a squad leader to be flying.

Been done on Basrah multiple times, by me.

I usually have me as PiC, a decent co-pilot to take orders from the commander or SLs, 2 SAWs (one on the door, one on the ramp), 1 H-AT on the side door and a L-AT on the back ramp. Works wonders.

SL as pilot, everyone else L-AT/H-AT shooting out of chopper..I think this strat belongs to vBF2. I used to see similar things take place overthere.

Yes, yes. I know its not realistic enough, squad leaders shouldn't be pilot, bla, bla, bla.

But theres no way around it. If something there why not use it. someone else is just going to use that tactic against you and remember, there still needs to be a balance between realism and fun. without this balance would be boring or just another BF2 with extra ****. Anyway, I havnt actually gotn a chance to test my tactic out so dont go telln me off..... yet.

This is a GREAT example of why we have to limit certain options in the game world. In reality, you'd probably down the chopper and kill everybody in it by firing any sort of AT weapon from a helicopter.
