Stamina and rest

Post by apollo »

you should get back stamina a lot quicker when you are lying motionless or siting (crouching) on the floor than when you are walking or climbing a ladder ;-)

That would enforce realistic “sprint and pause... to rest and look” move on the maps.

I did not check how long time it takes to fill the entire stamina bar when it's empty if it's your question Nottingham pal :p , but I suggest at least double resting rate while prone or crouched and not moving compared to walking, climbing and moving.

Walking it off is the best way to regain yourself.

Although I've never tried it in the desert at 50'C after having run a mile with combat gear on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A word or two comes to mind...

Hard Coded?

I highly doubt it would be possible to have your Stance effect anything other than you accuracy, movement speed, and ability to fire your weapon.

The soliders in PR should have less stamina. The sprint is just for ... sprint ! Cross a street, find cover quickly, move to others short points of cover. But actually the players run long distances that a soldier in real life would never do the same with all his gear on.

Yep they should have less stamina... and they should only sprint short distance... but rest faster. Proning or crouching would be a solution. Resting while climbing a hill or a ladder is quite unrealistic.
So... hard coded ?

Who the hell is going to slow down to a trot in the middle of the street while under fire, because they are so tired that they can't keep going. Seriously, the stamina is annoying enough as it is.

Speaking of the stamina bar, I think one way to prevent prone diving/dolphin diving repeatedly at close ranges is to make it so when the player sprint-prones, the player should lose most of his stamina from the prone/dive...

According to my PE teachers at secondary school it's really bad for you to instantly stop after heavy exercise so yeah walking around a bits much better.

If it is a hardcoded which is likely then I think they've done about their best with the whole system. If your life depended on it you run that long with all that kit on real life, I would of thought anyway.

I think it's much more realistic to have the system of having more sprint available but it taking much longer to rest yourself (comparatively) so I think it's fine as it is.
