Will the GPMG replace the .50 cal on the Land Rover and Saxon?

Post by Bobert08 »

I'm just curious, because I see in the PR Guide screen shots of these vehicles with mounted GPMGs, and since the GPMG is in-game already, and apparently have been mounted on these models, why they aren't in the latest beta.

Not that it matters or anything, this is just small stuff after all.

Oh, also, I hope to see the GPMG take the place of the mounted M249 on British maps like Al Basrah and such

When I saw that image I thought of the Checkpoints on Al Basrah and the M249s that are on the cement barricades.

Like I said, this is small stuff, so don't think I'm insisting that this is important or anything.

The .50 cal is used too in real life, and we thought they deserved a more powerful weapon. ;)

He has a point about the CP static weapons though. The GPMG would be far more fitting.

Isn't the GPMG on the sandbag posts inside the Checkpoint on Albasrah in v0.6 though?

I would guess the GPMG doesn't have a modeled bi pod on it, which has something to do with why we aren't seeing it in those places quite yet?

I didnt think the Saxon could even mount an M2...

I miss the good old GPMG. Gave the Brit viechles a different feeling to those of the other factions. Now they're just dull...
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Bit harsh to deny the rover a 50 cal seeing as it has a FN Mag as well.
Although the hideous Saxon often doesn't mount any offensive weapons - it is the definition of a battlefield taxi.

I'll give you that, something about the GPMG looks better on the Rover and Saxon.

Not that the power of the M2 doesn't make up for that.

I desperately want a GPMG iron site, but so do the DEVs, therefore we shall patiently wait.

THe questions now are, how low or high a prioritory it is AND how esaily or difficult is it to achieve.

The answer of these 2 questions, will then allow us to make a very rough estiamate as to when we shall see such.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.
