APC spawning

Any chance of making people spawn in a APC on the back seats first instead of the driver seat of gunner. Died so many times due to people spawning on these and not moving out right away.

Or make it so if they spawn in driver w/o crewman they cant move vehicle AT ALL, atm if your on a hill manning the gun covering ure squad, some newbs spawns and tries to drive it moving hardly, but cause your on a hill you slide all the way down, then you cant do f-all till they get out. and if someone spawns in gunner posision w/o crewman please stop them from firing as they think there doing something usefull or whatever but there just wasting ammo giving away our posistion and then will sit there till they get autokilled :roll:

Also any chance of crewman only available at main base, because i think if your attacking a APC and kill a crewman who jumps out to repair, theres nothing to stop the crewman respawning on his own vehicle and getting another crewmen kit manning his gun again like nothing happend.

However, note you are mostly having this problem due to not using the APC correctly. You need both a gunner and a driver.

True, but unfortunatley the APCs are not made very much more effective by having 2 crewmen esp VS infantry on Basrah. So much so that its more effective to have that 2nd crewmen be on the ground S&D'ing or capping.

I say scrap APC spawning altogether so peope use RP's more. :)

1. Suggested all the time but it can't be done.

2. You can't request a Crewman kit at APC when it's had a driver for more than 1 minute.

Do not forget, in .5 you can't request a crewman kit if the APC is X meters from a friendly flag.

I believe X = 100 meters.

Basically, if you are the driver gunner duo, do not get out often. Have your engineer kit budy do the prone wrenching.

For that to happen they don't need to try to drive it. In fact all they have to do is actually spawn in the APC in the driver position, since it automatically turns on the APC's engine and turns off the hand brakes, making you slide down the hill.

yeah this issue sucks bananas.
sometimes it goes all wobbly like your rodeoriding INSIDE a bull.

last time on basrah some warrior driver had the idea to get out north of mosque, take some hits and die.
we were spawning in, saw the enemies thru the windows but had no way to defend ourselfs. the bodies take a while to disappear in 0.6 ... leaving a pille of corpses behind that deathtrap..

What about totally reversing the seat structure?

Make Seats 1-6 Passenger seats with Seat 7 being the Gunner and seat 8 being the driver.
This would work to fix the problems with Lone gunners losing their position or AFK players blocking the driver/gunner seat and/or costing tickets from dieing in those seats.

Also, it is realistic. When you get in an APC, are you automatically at the front of the thing? Nope. You're in the back in the Passenger seats and have to move up to the front, Gunner or Driver seat.

Some thing should be done for tanks, you get in through the hatch and have to climb down to the driver/gunner seats.

You can actually get in through the top hatches on most of the APCs in the game... Too bad different entry points can't correspond to different positions inside of the vehicle... Though I vaguely recall such thing being possible in BF1942...

Yeah, a system similar to Halo's "Driver side door puts you in driver seat" would be awesome, but I highly doubt the BF2 Engine could handle it.
