I say a donate button to get them started off. And then look for companies to advertise on your website. That is what the tales of heroes guy are doing for their website.

Distribute it on Steam. Then you don't have to pay for shelf space and many gamers will see it. You really do have a fine mod.

Imagine instead of the makers of Desert Combat (Trauma Studios), the PR would work with EA/Dice.
Means: They would show EA/Dice how a good game is made.
wow... youre seriously in error there buddy. its obvious that ea/dice are impervious to intelligent game design -- they fired the dc team after the dc team added the few good things about the bf2 game. the pr team would have gotten the exact same treatment. not because they are worse or better than dc, but because ea and dice are flawed.

I'd contribute once I got my law degree, but I'd be afraid eggman would drink it away.

Hmm, maybe some different options in the poll besides "I love BF2 engine" and "I love BF2 engine"?

Not really, havent seen a lot of people buy the BF2 just to play PR, and basically PR gives you, what you wanted, when you bought BF2 under the illusion from all the bs EA said about it to promote it...

the BF2 engine is not bad, it's just not mod-friendly.

or they could just remake the game in the Unreal3 engine, win the make something unreal competition, then have the rights to publish their game on a 1 million dollar pay check to kick start them.

this thread has been posted loads of times before.

Yeah I like the feel of the BF2 engine, can't stand ARMA for some reason, just doesn't feel right.

I would pay £40 (approx $75) for a full game.

can't do as much as the BF2 engine. plus, big mods aren't very popular in CoD. just small downloadable mods that change minor things like recoil, crosshairs, sounds, skins, capture the flag and gore mods.

ohhhh, who would be willing to buy a muffin made by me for $1,000? Then I would just have to make and sell 50 and then we could think about setting up a game studio, or probaly what would be a better idea is to expand my muffin making company :p

but really, setting up a game studio to make and publish real games is talking about alot of work and would be something very hard to do. I have infact no clue to how maps are developed in the real games industrie yet, I just take it they do it around abouts the same way as me :p

Sell this website, set up a new one, sell that one, set up a new one, sell that one, set up a new one......

You could get a lot in no time. Of course someone would have to buy it.

Put lots of money into a high-interest account in the Cayman Islands, wait a few years, rob a bank, rob the treasury, robthe queen and BLAM! we put EA out of business.

Now, who's got a catsuit I can borrow?

Making a full retail game remotely is IMO pretty much impossible. Planning and designing properly is very difficult if everyones on different time zone. Even simple conversations take days. The whole team should move to one area and have an office. Everyone should probably also leave their fulltime job or school. Someone should be paying our rents and gets something to eat.
^^All that cost loads.

I like Rhino’s muffin idea though :p
We could sell special muffins made of ‘secret ingredients’ and ‘magical powder’ to Hollywood celebrities
