And I don't think the Devs really want to cross that line.

I mean, the Middle East is already mad at us for our video
games that depict us shooting Arabs. I think it would be
dangerous to our health if we made them specific.

It's perfectly reasonable to assume that it may end up with full on sectarian violence in alot of middle eastern countries at the moment. Pretty much every Islamic country is escalating to this kind of state gradually as far as I'm aware, even the ones perceived as alot less brutally violent then others such as Pakistan.

I think Middle Eastern people would appreciate it more then being grouped so stupidly into a "MEC" like DICE decided to do.

The thing about the Sunni's and Shiites is that their objectives are not to capture flags or destroy an ammo cache but to just kill the other side. For this reason I feel this isn't such a good idea.

now that i think about it, this gamemode is little more than a team-deathmatch mode: not much to encourage intelligent gameplay or teamwork

Maybe there could be something of an objective mode like the opposite teams have to destroy eachother's shrines/mosques, or an extraction mode where a Shiite politician or Sunni insurgent leader must be protected

as with the controversy, the division of sects in game is a matter of religious controversy that can be decided in line with the debate about an enterable mosque
i mean-we already have car bombs and IEDs...

chea remember the Muhammid cartoon thing in Denmark? lol might as well put a team full of George Bush character models, Pope Benedict models, and Osama Bin Laden with Muhammid Adenijad models lmfao. Call it Mid East Battle Royale mod for BF2 lol
