Long time WWIIOL player here.........

Post by crushem »

I recently bought BF2 because of the hype. I am more of a realistic type guy who respects realisim more than arcadish type games. Does PR serve this purpose and what is different about PR over the vanilla BF2 game in terms of realism and game models/physics? Thanks and am downloading now.

alot of the Mini Mod is just changes to coding that effect the overal gameplay, removal of 'chutes from some kits, altering weapons physics etc etc

the full mod will add more new content in terms of models maps etc etc, the british military will be added as a faction of the game, and more changes to gameplay will be made as they are developed

Yea, its a Work in Progress. The mini-mod is like one of those stands in a store that hands out free samples..lol. Only, the final product is free too!

But basically the mini-mod is just to get things rolling, get a response from the community, and shut us up!

Keep in mind that the tweaks and changes brought by PR/PRMM are still within the realm of arcade play. In other words, there are certain things about the engine and the playing style that simply cannot be take away because it is an essential part of the battlefield series (aircraft, for example).

As a dev corrected me earlier, PR is focused more towards an authentic experience, rather than to mimic every aspect of real life ... as that is impossible :D

Just think about having this mod on a super 1337 engine where they could do anything they wanted.

Armed Assault, should hopefully be something to behold. The DEVS at PR are attempting to make the game as realistic and authentic as possible, however as noted, there are some major problems with just what the BF2 engine is capable of doing ( at the moment ), no doubt as with the SF mod we will discover further down the line that things we want are possible, it's just that EA want to make many dollers with this flawed game and intend to screw us for every penny. Personaly I hope the DEVS at PR can eventualy overcome the shit EA has placed in mods way and create an even better game that what is planned for the first release, which will itself go quite some way to making BF2 an enjoyable and workable game to play. I really hope this is the case then the community can tell EA to choke on the shit they are peddling.
