Making a Real Black Hawk Down Map PR and vBF2 (after PR version) Suggestions?

Durants crash was in a more flat area, the ghetto, i remember i read he tried to land in a what seemed like a flat area which turned out to be a neighborhood or tin shacks. The target building is located on halawadag (sp) road

Hmm i just had an idea poped in my mind about the pakistani stadium of an extraction mode. From Airport head to crash site 1, than 2, then to stadium.... And BTW humvees need to be a woodland skin since it was ;)

OK, im tempted to shoot some of you, but I wont...

I dont want to use BHD's movie music cuz 1. thats a tad illegal and I dont feel like my only big online work to be illegal 2. I know where the crash sites are, but I wanted a better on the ground view or something of durants 3. no, im not about to mod a humvee so its the right color. this is a map, not a mod. 4. i dont know enough about xtract, so ill let someone else deal with that if they want... i dont even think there is a static that looks like a stadium, and if I did extract, itd prolly just be airport, get the pilot at wolcotts, and back, or start at wolcotts and everyone get out (but pilot is the one that matteres most, since its extract)

If you legally own the music file, I don't see why it would be illegal.

technically that still wouldnt be a bit illegal, itd be making the song available to whoever got the map. now if i were to make the map and keep it...

besides, im not trying to make it based on the movie...

so the main answer is i dont want to make it a copy of the movie.

its not illegal, since theres a soundtrack cd. and it wont be illegal to put it on your map as long you dont make money out of it.

eh, to be honest i really dont care, even though im still pretty sure its not legal (sure, i have the cd, but if thats ok, why would youtube always be in deep shi*t? cuz people use others' music and post it for their own creations in a medium that is easily downloaded and ripped) I would just rather have my own music that isnt already tied to something else...

anyway, its the weekend, hopefully ill make some progress. Ive got a longer, slightly added to version of my loading music I might put upon filefront to see the reaction... anyway,

yes. it is illegal.
you will be giving the track away publically to anyone who plays the map so you are illegaly distributing the track which has been copyrighted so that the only people can pass it on are the record company. unless you get the record companys permission then it's a no-go. it should be OK giving it to a couple of testers but not if it makes it into 0.7

anyway, the main reason stands, i dont wanna just copy off BHD the movie and use its music to further my own project... make sense?

I was gonna map tonight, but i started PRing it up, and now im off to a party.. :(

Because I want to be shut in my room all of my life and play Project Reality and live off of string cheese, ramen, and orange juice, thats why :(

Probably not til later in this week, most likely not until the weekend. Working everyday, then gone to see some friends on Tuesday to Thursday, then work again...

I'll get some up as soon as I can. one thing i have been working on is taking out buildings and making each area a bit more unique and not so repetitive. Fewer of he same buildings, with more yards and lots and parking, etc... junk like that... but its still got many buildings...

everytime i load up Al Basrah i get this feeling that I totaly suck... but then again, al basrah is amazing.. :(

****UPDATE****
So I've been mapping and listening to the load music and I'm in a groove.

Here's two pics, one is of some elevation thats been added. Its near the Insurgent Spawn, but it spans out towards the airport and to the Western edge of the city. Mountainous, but nothing too severe. There's a road that goes between the mountains connecting the Insurgent spawn to anther road to the city. Effectively giving the Insurgents more of a choice on how to proceed, it also looks like more of a main spawn. However, I realize the Mog fighters didnt have a huge complex base, so it wont be anything ridiculous... ummm...
So here: (note: the grid texture makes some areas look hilly from the angle of the screenshot. they arent. i think you'll understand.)

The second picture is of a Food Distribution Center that is in the works, kind of inspired by the opening of the BHD movie (Chopper over head, technical comes and takes food, yadda yadda) So anyway, Thats a WIP... as is the whole map:

Oki!

I'm sketching a nice overview of the city right now and will post it when i'm done. Its hard to get a good screen shot of the city to put up, so I'm loosely tracing and stuff. On it will be the Control Points, Terrain, and some noteworthy objects.
