2 quick suggestions...

Post by Artnez »

1) Pickup request should have an icon.
If this is possible, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard. When someone request a pickup, an icon should appear on screen. It would be nice if you could have an option to disable the icon (incase you accidentally pressed it when the menu was up). Another precaution should be made to reduce spamming.

This would help for the helos. Alot of players pride themselves in being great helo pilots and want to do nothing more than pickup friendlies and drop them off in locations. Any feature additions that promote this behaviour is advised.

2) A video tutorial required for play
Password all of the zip/rar files that contain the mod installer. Create a video tutorial on the PR website (very easily accessible.. ie: realitymod.com/tutorial).

The end of the tutorial would simply contain the password the zip/rar files that have the installer.

This serves 2 purposes:

- Gets people to watch the tutorial, obviously.
- For those that simply post the password for the installer, it would still be a talked about subject as "why did they make a password"..."oh, well because they have a tutorial that you gotta watch to play so you know all of the features"

both sound great, first one might be hardcoded as move commands are squad only but maybe it could add a layer just like the Attack and defend markers on the map.

Nice ideas. I really like the video idea but I don't think it can happen. What happens if you don't understand English or the language the video is in? I wouldn't take it for granted that everyone who plays PR can understand English.

1. Good idea.

2. Possibly. I'd be more infavor of a C&C style (you know, from the good old days when they explained the back story and whatnot during the install) installer that goes through the basics. Mind you, depends whats harder to do.

as for the second idea maybe just have the password on the guide so it can be easily translated?

Just grab some people to translate the basic guide into their native languages and add those to installer pics, when the PR is installing, so we can watch something.

We could get the following:
-German
-Russian
-Spanish
-Japanese
-French (?)
-Canadian :p :p :p

Second one is a good idea but wouldn't be to long before the password got out. I had the same idea only with a readme file, password at the end.
