Why not have a tomahawk launching vehicle? TV guided weapon, also if it's possible make something so you can set it to fly to certain coordinates. The last one has more teamwork BTW, as people can call in coordinates for a barrage with some sort of designator. 1. 2. 3. 4.
in C&C i would have a fleet of paladins and bust those stinger platforms and seeing the rockets get blown out of the sky by the tanks would always give a feeling of superiority
Umm... tomahawks are cruise missiles, Ie. used against hardend stationary targets and are launched from VERY far away. This is not a replacement for the Javelin, they are in no way similar in roles or operation.
calling in guided weapon using a target designator is possible ( hate Ea for not completing the simrad ). i tried to make one and it works but the bots cant use .
A somewhat realistic implementation of tomahawks would be kashan desert, with sea in one corner, and a power plant in the other. The USMC team would have one player, and the MEC team would have everyone else. The MEC team would be basically pulling guard duty around the powerplant and other facilities. The USMC player would launch a cruise missile, and guide into into the power plant. And that would end the map.
- to correct the person who said tomahawks arent launched from the air, quite the contrary is true. there is a b-52 launched variant of the tomahawk which actually has about a 1000 pound heavier warhead that has been used extensively in iraq, kosovo etc.
I think if they can be launched from a ship they can be launched from land. They should be pretty much unguided rockets, so you need the coordinates and then in the secondary (zoomed-in) view there are numbers to determine how many coordinates away it will go.
no wrong again the air launched variant of the tomahawk has a much bigger warhead because it doenst need to be shot out of a tube it is actually just dropped from the plane, then all it does is turn on its engine and fly to the target. not having to be shot from a rocket tube means it can have a much bigger warhead because weight is not as much of a concern. if you look back at the news coverage of the operation desert fox or the "shock and awe" compaign of the current iraq war, the REALLY big explosions in baghdad were caused by air launched tomahawks. if i remember correctly ship and sub tomahawks have 1000 pound warheads, air launched has a 2000 pound.
