Open Beta question to European Players

Post by wazza_ni »

Ok,

I wasnt going to bother downloading the OB as my connection (512k) isnt the hottest and it takes 7/8hrs. I was just going to wait for the full .6 version to come out.

However as im off work all week (waaaaaaaaahey) ive decided to download to give it a try. What im wondering is how many servers/players are currently being run with the OB? Im in the UK so obviously with my sh*t connection, European servers give me a lot lower ping.

Can any European players give me a rough idea of what kind of an early experience of .6 im in for?

Cheers

Wazza

P.S. Only 3 hours left!!!

12 servers, I'd estimate at least 4-5 being in Europe with good ping.

Um, if you have such slow download you probably should have waited for the new version, due to be releaes in a few hours *sigh*

Anyway, check here for all OB servers. As you can see theres often a EU server available.

Cheers for the info lads, much appreciated.

On another note...

Zrix...full version in a few hours? Is this speculation or gospel?

Ignore my last question, just read the post from Egg. Thanks to all.

Also, ive just been doing my prep work for .6 and reading over all the new changes in the online guide and i have a question about the commander assets. The firebases, bunkers etc all seem like excellent ideas but im wondering if there currently being used.

For example...(correct me if im wrong) but it takes at least 2 riflemen/engineers with shovels out to construct a firebase etc but in order to do that the commander must have a command post setup in the first place? It seems that its gonna take a fair bit of work and togetherness to get these up and running.

Is it a bit of a hit and miss affair when it comes to USMC/GB using these assets??

Also known as 'teamwork' !!

I'm running a UK based beta server so feel free to drop by when it's up (I've just moved server provider so I'm busy setting it up again - should be back 2moro). IP 85.236.101.56:16967

If you loved 0.5 then prepare to be amazed by 0.6. The devs have done themselves proud.

Just a word tho on my last post. Are the assets being used by coalition forces currently?

Sometimes, and if the server has some good teamwork going it might even get used properly :)

I live in Spain, and I have the same speed connection as you. I can play on most of the servers with a ping of around 100, sometimes a bit more and it works great. This is on the 0.6 beta and I play on most of the servers, although some are normally more full than others therefore I go on those.
