My list of statics for commanders/Squad leaders

Post by Ecko »

Squad leader:
-Update to RP.
--Uses a Oval/Circular Sandbag static
--Doesn't have a soldier limit
--Needs to be built by a soldier with Shovel.

Advantages: More realistic and applicable use other than just a magical spawn point.

-Observation post
--A Small two man sandbag/dirt bunker, will only fit two people in prone. Great for snipers or MG emplacements. (Example Image here)
--Needs to be built by someone with a shovel.

Commander:
-50 Cal./GPMG/Other Weapon emplacements.
--A Semi-Circle of sandbags with a weapon on top.
--Ammo cache.
--Soldier with shovel built

-Vehicle blockade
--Could use a "Destroyed Car" or a Tank X.
--Handy for forces enemies down one route.
--Engineer built

-Mobile bridge
--Need I say more?
--Built by TWO engineers

That would be a disaster with all the collision meshes, etc.

hehe yeah we'll get the current stuff working, then expand on it in future releases.

I *really* want to see bridges be of strategic value and, as a result, blowing up and repairing them be meaningful

Rally point is just that - a rally point. It's a place where troops stop and asses the situation before moving on. Making it a defensive position would make it something else entirely (and would be weird if you could still take it out with two knife hits).

How about when a player blows up a bridge, the bridge is destroyed until a new bridge respawns after about 10-30 minutes? For example, when the bridge is destroyed, neither side can't repair it, the bridge repairs itself, this shows your team is "repairing" the bridge. The idea is not realistic but it is a metaphor because repairing bridges takes long, hard work to rebuild.

On armor-oriented maps, that could practically halt the game for 10 minutes, as tanks would just dig and wait for the bridge to come back up, while infantry wouldn't be able to deliver enough firepower to do anything.

Yet it'd also give more use to infantry on these armor maps, and would give make ambushes a viable solution as you know the bottleneck they face
