Anti spawnraping

Is the bots thing someone suggested a few pages back actually possible?

It'd be much better if there were MG turrets and whatever base defences may be required manned by bots so it would make attacks on bases as difficult as the mapper wants them to be but not impossible if good enough tactics are used. It'd mean that you'd have to actually think about how to orchestrate sabotage missions rather then relying on people being held up in the front lines/not seeing you because of heading toward the front line.

I know bots are generally wank but if they're stuck on a mounted MG or a TOW or AA or anything like that then they might fair alright (from my experience with bots they can shoot pin point due to them knowing exactly how the game works and all so they'd be ideal in this situation). Give 'em a bit of AI when it comes to ducking and stuff like that and they should fare ok I reckon.

Obviously there's the matter of weak points and making sure fields of fire work out but It seems the mods are clever enough to work stuff like that out.


*Waits to be told that such a thing would be hardcoded due to bots having to count as numbers on a team or something stupid*

What about spawn raping APCs. Quite often I spawn into a warrior, which is empty, only to be killed instantly when I get out. Since it has not gun ports, and you cant operate the gun w/o a crewman kit, and you can't get a crewman kit outside of main base, it is virtually impossible to get out and survive.

Now I understand if they are trying to cover their friend who is going to blow it up, but often it is just to build up K/D ratio. Just yesterday on Basra, I saw 3 or 4 insurgents, at least one of which was an ambusher and several were Insurgent class (with ammo) sitting at the back of an APC waiting for people to spawn. Since they had c4, mines, and ammo they could have easily blown it up.

That would be your team's fault. An APC should NEVER be abandoned.

Agreed, but lets admit it, there are really, really stupid people out there, and it happens many times a round.

I do not condone the actions of spawnrapers and by spawnraper I mean those total idiots that hang around main bases from technicals or as infantry "Death Squads" in massacre mode catching respawning troops.

Infantry only SF style hit & run raids against enemy main base technical assets are a valid tactic IMO as long as they hit AND run when it's mission accomplished instead of indulging in the above actions ;)
