Prod 'weapon' for medic

Post by Apheirox »

Instead of having to use your three field dressings to 'un-clip' people stuck in world so you can revive them (yes, you can... try it!), the medic should have a 'prod' weapon (like in Worms, heh) that pushes critically wounded teammates around. Animation for this is easy - use the 'throw ammo bag' one but without the bag!

Thats sounds neat. If it is possible i would like to see that.

Oh. When I saw the subject line of the thread I thought someone was suggesting a cattle prod.

"OMG dude im outa defrib batteries and the SL has only 5 seconds left!!!!"
"Quick, stick the cattle prod up his arse!!!"

btw like the idea
would look better than throwing a field dressing at a dead body
maybe slot should be named "handle" instead of "prod" and be given unlimited "ammo"

I like the idea, but I wouldn't call it "prodding", isn't it more like pushing?

sound good. It's frustrating to use all of your field dressings on reviving people only to find out that you have non left when you/someone else needs it.

How many times does this happen in a game?

Would you have time to relise that you can't revive him, pull out a "prod", then switch back to the defib's and revive again, aswell as getting shot at?

Well, if the field dressing does the prod job, why not have another field dressing, only this one doesnt heal and it says "throw to push" on it :p

A lot on some maps like Jabal, where the terrain is un-even

Not a bad idea. Could just have your hands flung out (taken from some other animation but without the ammo bag or whatever). And it would simulate grabbing a wounded player or shoving him a little bit out of danger. TBH what would be nice is if you could literally grab a player, like in Hitman (or like grabbing items in HL2 before you have the gravity gun) and drag him around the corner before reviving him.

Errr... there isn't one. If everyone had the same blood type, there would be no such thing as blood types
