BF2 Minimizing on load

Post by Gigman »

Hi, I just downloaded the new patch for PR and installed it. I have kept all of the previous versions of PR in the game file .5, the first .6 beta and now the second one. PR was previously working fine but now as soon as Battlefield loads my window is minimized. When I attempt to reopen it I get a black screen for a second or two and then it re-minimizes (word?) back to my desktop. Can anybody help me with this? I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to put this request I just don't know where else to put it. Also on a side note, is there an official change log for the new beta?
Thanks for all your help
-Gigman

EDIT: Oh, now I feel stupid, on returning back to the main board i just noteced the .6 BETA section, DOH! Dev's move as you see fit.

I don't really know if this has something to do with your minimized window problem, but you have to uninstall your old PR Open Beta .605/.606, before installing the .607!

You haven't just installed that Folding@Home thing have you? I have to remember to close mine, otherwise when BF2 loads it instantly minimizes and goes all funny.

If you haven't, check for other applications that are running and may be showing in the task bar.

No you don't. They are stand alone products, meaning they will run alongside each other. The only reason to remove .606 is to save disc space and keep things tidy.

Alright, I thought this:
IMPORTANT: you MUST uninstall the 0604 open beta client prior to installing the 0605 client.
was the case for all PR 0.6 OB-Versions. My bad.

I'm getting that minimizing now too, even though I uninstalled. It's not a big deal though and if it only happens to a few people it is not really a problem.

start turning off background programs one at a time and figuring out which one is doing it. I mean extra 3rd party programs, not critical windows processes!
