Derailing Thread!! Derailing Thread!!
I started it as an idea for a life-sized map of something, dont turn it into a political flamefest (like most of the threads end)
Thank you.

/\_ What he said.
Now, as to life-sized maps, I like the idea of a campaign rotation across maps designed to mimic a larger area.
It's a shame there is no map selection logic available.
Here's a scenario:
You have Five Maps of an island (just for the sake of illustration) running from North to South in the order A-B-C-D-E.
The first map of the campaign starts with Map C. If Team 1 Wins, the next map loaded is Map D, simulating team 2 being pushed back. If Team 2 wins then the next map is Map B, simulating team 1 being pushed back.
A Campaign Win would be Team 2 winning on map A or team 1 winning on Map E.
That could be quite interesting, and would lend a whole new meaning to "Advance and Secure!"
ON EDIT:
Also on the subject of life-sized maps, imagine a 4x4km map based entirely inside a city.

I'm surprised no one's talking about Desert Combat's solution, scaling down everything involved, making the maps essentially larger.
You'd still have to deal with the lower detail levels as far as terrain is concerned, but I'd be happy with an EJOD-ish map that armor/etc needs some serious time to mosey on out to.

lol, and each time you do that you make the terrain even less detailed.oS2007 wrote:I'm surprised no one's talking about Desert Combat's solution, scaling down everything involved, making the maps essentially larger.
