Hey everyone,
Im new here, but I think it would be cool if you could board tanks and take them out with grenades like in I think its brothers in arms. Also it would be cool if you could snipe out vehicle drivers and helo pilots. And I know you talk about hit zones for the players, but what about hit zones for the vehicles, itd be cool if you could take down a helicopter with a few well place rounds to the tail rotor or the main rotor, or hitting a tank from behind will take it out with one rocket instead of a couple, maybe even put in some track damage or something, like a track can be damaged by grenades and slow the tank speed down. Also, I think itd would be more realistic if you could limit the artillery strikes, give each team a limited number or they have too wait longer to use it again, but also make them more powerful and effective against everything even armor. And then maybe put permanent ammo crates like around the sandbags of flag points and on vehicles like humvees and buggies, but have to be in control of your team in order to use them. I dont know if it would be possible to do much of this but I think it would make this mod even more fun and realistic, and i apologize if this stuff has already been mentioned. I didnt go through and read all the posts, cause well I dont have a week to do it, lol.

Some of that that can already be done in vanilla BF2. Mainly the ability to shoot pilots through the cockpit. As far the grenade in the hatch, that's pretty unlikely situation since it's likely the crew will be buttoned up. It took quite awhile to open that locked hatch when that guy stole the M60 and drove around California. The localized vehicle damage issue has come up and somewhat already exists. I'm confident the PR coders will be able to improve upon and add new things to it.

A nade wouldn't take out a tank, even if it was thrown in (well... maybe those 5kg Russian AT nades which is basically a stick with C4 on it). It'd just kill/injure the crew. Plus if they did that they'd have to model the inside of the tanks and make more LOD's, which mean more lag... well render time.

I've always wanted to do that too...
But in modern combat, you'de be lucky to even get within 100yds of any MBT..(providing you're in the open running towards the tank with a grenade in your hand)
Now in more urban areas its more feasable, but still, like someone already mentioned, we're assuming that given the fact that modern MBTs close all hatches in combat, that its closed up...So something like this doesnt happen..
