Hitboxes and Bunnhopping
Title pretty much says it all really. Hit detection in this game is STILL bad, though i have no idea if you guys can affect it or not. Getting it to the level that something like CS:S is would be totally awesome, especially considering the realism of the weapons in the mod. And bunny hopping still happens; change it to a climb over feature, or create a JUMP energy tab with only enough in it for one jump every, say, minute. Cheers.
PS; as a relatively new player i found these to be the largest disappointments in the mod, as they really affect the 'realism' for me.

Solving the bunnyhopping would need an entirely new jumping code, since theres a lot of situations, where you have to jump on/over something.
Devs partially cured it with new walking speeds.
Also, altough people may bunnyhopp in panic, its not effective anyways, its just the n00bs way of saying "I didnt think tactically and now Im in shit"

Bunny hopping really is not a problem. You cannot fire while hopping, it consumes large chunks of stamina and put up a big, fat, slow-moving target that is easy to track since you cannot change directions in mid air. Also, your whole body is exposed. Only a total newbie would bunny hop.
The suggestion of not being able to jump more than once within a minute is plain awful. Sometimes, for example, when attempting to climb a tank on rough terrain you require several tries.
What you really should be 'disappointed' with is the fact that prone-flopping on the ground the instant you see an enemy still persists and is effective. The BF2 engine is highly uncooperative and poses some serious restrictions on the developers and this is one of the many critical issues they can do nothing about.

To be fair, bunnyhopping works in 'nilla and I did it for a week or so when I first started playing PR.
It becomes an ingrained habit but long spawn times are very helpful in breaking that habit.

It sounds like the author is playing .5. The new release .6 is coming in a week or so...but if you want a taste you can download the beta from a link in the forums. Definitely no hopping in .6...and I'm pretty sure we are on track with fixing the "proners" issue since we now have ....*drum roll*..... "A NEWWW ANIMATOR" **Bob Barker impersonation**. From what I know he is getting up to speed and will eventually be working on the proning issue and insta-aim issue I'm sure too.

Thanks for contributing. Yes I'm currently playing v.5, and what i have seen makes me think i will upgrade to v.6 when it is released. TBH the bunnyhopping is not the most annoying thing, the hitboxes are probably the biggest problem with the game as a whole, but i guess thats the nature of the game, and I am getting used to it pretty quickly. And to go slightly off topic, it always seems to me that the mod runs at a slower FPS than vanilla. Is this due to an increase in textures etc? really im just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. At times it can be significant enough to make the mod unplayable. A few people have mentioned Al Basrah slows down quite noticabley, probably due to the A-10 skins. correct?
