just kinda funny

Post by Sgt_carbonero »

as a small comedic breather, I thought I would mention the connecting to server screen (the one with the pic of the tank blasting something).

Anyone else notice the coleman cooler on top of the tank? like they are on their way to a picnic or something. "gotta keep the drinks cool. oh shit! an insurgent! keep the cooler safe!" - lol. it just looks so out of place, i chuckle whenever i see the screen..

I understood the temp inside the tanks to be over 110F at times so it makes sense to havea cooler that would provide cool ( <100F ) drinks.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Alcohol is illegal in Iraq, even for the US/UK soldiers (most people there have a custom of strictly avoiding alcohol).

As far as I know, there are no bans on alcohol in Iraq - it ain't exactly Saudi Arabia... However, US soldiers aren't allowed to drink alcohol while deployed in Iraq. In fact, I remember reading about an incident where a soldier got illegally drunk on moonshine, and started running around shooting stuff with his M16.

As to the cooler, I notice it every time I log in. I always thought that it kinda made sense - you often see pictures of APCs/IFVs loaded like mules, with all sorts of cargo on the exterior. I guess a cooler doesn't make that much of a difference as long as it's secured properly.
