Well, at least it's on the list, unlike those other suggestions, haha. Anyway, now that I think about it, the dissapearance of the dropped magazines after a few seconds/minutes simulates the picking up of the magazines after each firefight.

I like the idea ties in with mine Spent cartridges.

Well, i don't know about you guys.

But i've served for a couple of years. And what you get teached in the army is to reload when you've got a few rounds left so you don't have to touch the loading mechanism. And you always take your spent mag and put it in either the ammo pouch or a pocket in your uniform. The latest more common, so you don't grab a spent mag in the confusion.

I always had 2 ducktaped clips in the pouch. Was quicker and easier when you came under fire. like so : http://www.plutonen.com/EN01/bilder/rep/dubbelmagg.jpg

These mags belong to my personal weapon i had during the service:

Actually we plan on implementing this right after we implement the following...

When you spawn you have nothing and you have to go grab your weapon. Then after you grab it you go to the magazine pile and grab a magazine, press E to pick it up then go to the bullet pile and grab those with E, then go to the table where you press E, then you have to right click then load in the bullets.

it will make the first half hour of battle loads of fun!

wtf Riki. pople dont get dropped into battle without weapons that would be crazy. Even paratroopers have a assault rifle and a couple of mags.

Would that apply for the kits, too?

Can imagine someone grabbing a sniper right at start, then when he gets into position and find a target, he realizes, hes got no ammo

Looking at it again, it sort of reminds me of the Half Life ingame training course

I know, that on the shooting range, you had to the exactly the same, only the rifle already came with some mags, you just picked up the extra ammo, that was there, along with grenades...

pocket in your uniform.
I don't know about real life, but storing mags in uniforms during airsoft simulated combat, never works--they always fall out when running.

normally when one of my mag's runs out i have my combat jacket ziped down abit so i can throw them into my jacket, you never throw your mags away because 1) you dont know how long the battle is going to take 2) you might finish fighting one group of enemy in one trench and then have to attack anther straight after 3) after a battle you get the hell of of there as fast as possible because the enemy will lay artillery down on that location so you dont want to be staying around looking for the mags you have dropped.

sorry for being cocky on my first post but i had to point that out.

Erm, "Airsoft simulated combat" right..

Well, as you so clearly pointed out yourself...you don't know how it works IRL so ... why compare it to airsoft? When that's not remotely close to RL which we are discussing here?

No offense intended of course ;-)

What happens to the mags is.

the RL magazines are the same size and shape as the airsoft ones (for the most part, M16 magazines are about an inch shorter than they should be on most models). If a mag falls out of your pocket while you're running around playing airsoft, it'd almost certianly fall out in a real life situation
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

This thread got sidetracked a little. Anyway if you keep the expensed mag on you, then shouldn't you be able to switch back to the mag and use up the remainder of it? Don't know if it's already been brought up if it has then I'll re-bring it up. I don't know how to go about doing this or if it's possible.

Airsoft not remotely close to combat? Hmm, I guess the JGSDF are wasting their time with the 600 airsoft guns they use for CQB training, and I guess SigArms is wasting their money rebranding airsoft Sigs and promoting them for training use. Oh, and the Systema Professional Training Weapon (PTW).[/sarcasm]

Airsoft is the civilian's MILES system, except there's no blanks, no lasers, and there's always a cheater running amuck.
