Hi guys and girls!

Im bringing back an old ranking suggestion that I had a while back. and now with 0.6 version being using the same criterias as vanilla I would like a newer better rank system! The names of the ranks will differ a little from real life and will be for the british, but I at least what you to get the big picture! This suggestion mean that all stats will be reseted and be started from the beginning.

"I want a ranking system that don't give you a higher rank of your individual score. I want ranks to be given to how many wins you have and higher ranks when having high Win/Loose Rotation. This because to have high w/l you have to work with your team to win.

To start out.. If this should be possible, you cannot ever change teams or something similar (maybe just be able to change the first 10 minutes), and the rounds last around 1 hour. I added time to times winning to be able to see exactly how the players like to play as a role and who has the best W/L rotation.

As the British are in the game, I base the ranks on them, but I'm thinking you should have the rank counterparts when fighting for a different country.

The point/rank system that PR have now don't work so good, at least make it harder to get ranks Change the number a little if you don't like my suggestion.

I say reset all ranking when the new patch comes out and start from scratch!

A little overview..

Pvt to Sgt | Show the most dedicated Squad members.
SSgt to WOC1 | Shows the best Squad leaders.
2Lt to Capt | Shows the most experieced, used to playing all roles.
Maj to Field Marshal | Shows the dedicated and skilled Team Leaders.

You can jump ranks, mostly because you cant expect from someone to have a high W/L to get to a higher stadium. You can read what rank req you need to get the specific rank. The rank that shows is the rank you at least have to have.

SqM=Squad Member, SqL=Squad Leader, Com=Commander, W=Wins, W/L=Win/lose Rotation.

You start with this rank


* Lance Corporal

15h SqM
To get the feeling of advance


* Corporal

50h SqM + 25h SqL
Shows you're dedicated to fight in a squad


* Sergeant

100h SqM + 50h SqL
Shows you're dedicated to fight in a squad and capable of leading it


* Staff Sergeant

100h SqL + 50W
Shows that you are an experienced SqL


* Warrant Officer Class 2

SSGT + 1.50W/L
Shows that you a skilled and experienced SqL


* Warrant Officer Class 1

SSGT + 2.00W/L
Shows that you are a very skilled and experienced SqL


* Second Lieutenant

SSGT + 50h Com + 75W
Shows that you're an overall experienced TeamPlayer


* Lieutenant

2LT + 1.50 W/L
Shows that you're an overall skilled and experienced TeamPlayer


* Captain

2LT + 2.00 W/L
Shows that you're an overall very skilled and experienced TeamPlayer


* Major

250h Com + 150W
Shows that you're a experienced TeamLeader


* Lieutenant-Colonel

MAJ + 1.75 W/L
Shows that you're a skilled and experienced TeamLeader


* Colonel

MAJ + 2.50 W/L
Shows that you're a very skilled and experienced TeamLeader


* Brigadier

MAJ + 400h Com + 250W
Shows that you're a veteran Commander


* Major-General

(Brig) 1.50 W/L
Shows that you're a good veteran Commander


* Lieutenant-General

(Brig) 2.00 W/L
Shows that you're a skilled veteran Commander


* General

(Brig) 2.50 W/L
Shows that you're a very skilled veteran Commander

Looks pretty good overall. But I don't think the U.S. ranks have Field Marshal within them.

yeah I like that idea...but would your rank be displayed in-game? so you can see who has experience and who is new?
overall..I like it :D ;-)

the US has no Field Marshall.
I don't know the US equivelant to the field marshall in the UK military, though i'm sure it's an 'X' star general

as far as i know the US equivalent and highest ranking oficer is a 4 star general.

No, just because as you said, you would not be able to switch teams, that could be damaging to tourny players, clan members, friends, or people that just played USMC for the last 5 rounds and want a bit of diversity.

If you like you could make it so you cant change team the LAST 10 minutes, so no teamswitchers in the end. Needs to be a auto balancer though.. But that already in i think :)

Do not add W\L ratio as it doesn't depend on the player himself . This will force a lot of teamswitches and more servers having autobalance off so ppl will be able to get 'leet' ranks

Agreed, one step backward towards vBF2 isn't a good thing (duh).

the W/L record keeps people trying to win the match instead of whoring points.

well as long as the system is not done on points then im happy, mainly because points don't mean everything in project reality.

overall a very good idea, been waiting for specialized ranks, been pissed of with US ranks for all in vanilla...

wrt to teamswitchers, make autobalance a requirement for PROS status.
It will add to hte strategery of ranking if you might want to hurt your KDR in order to achieve a team win.
But at the very least I would like to see the ranks reset so the the new players have a chance to show their stuff.

Even lower the requirements timewise, but make your rank faction specific. IE - You may be a WO1 with the British Army faction, but you are a 1st Sgt with US, and whatever else for Chinese etc etc. On second thoughts, this would amost encourage people to stick to one faction all the time to bump up their rank :s

In the last year I have had less than 120 hours of Project Reality, because as a player with a wife and family I can't afford the time.

By your ranking system I would still be a corporal, but would be outranked by a guy with no life, a fast rig, who joined three weeks ago with no teamwork skills who just creates a two-player squad and whores the sniper kit so, at least for me this gets a "Nice Try but no cigar".

I see your point. The times and wins I wrote are just guidelines. They can be changed and tweaked.

But a nolifer will allways have a greater rank than you. If you count experiance that is. My rank show who plays what and how much. The W/L Is to distinguish the skilled no-lifers from the bad no-lifers :) I understand your concern.

I really likethis to work, and I'll be glad if you came with suggetions how to make it better! Like hours needed for a rank or just diffrent approches.

Red Halibut how much do you think the hours should be lowered then? I Made the times pretty high because i want the majority of players to be in the Pvt - Sgt area. Just like in real life.
