squad jeep

Post by gazzthompson »

i remember this being in a another post , but cant find it and cant remember if a DEV said anything about it so here goes.

a squad jeep , needs 6 people to be in squad to get it , and officer kit , what happends is the squad leader spawns a jeep (yea i know , but its only way of stopping people taking ur jeep). so u spawn at main , regroup ur squad , spawn ur jeep (hummer , wmik (2 because only 3 seats?)) then off you go , this jeep ONLY spawns once and is ur squads jeep. u fight with , along and inside ur jeep , have to protect it and use its fire power to ur advantage, once blown up u cant use it anymore.

is this reaslitc ? i dont know , do u get given a jeep that u always use when in iraq or afghanistan or do u just get in any spare jeep ? service person confirm this please ? any average public , is this a good idea ?

As a squad leader you should be able to request a vehicle drop from the commander (unless this has changed in .6) which is what you are talking about. Request a vehicle gatheryour squad and wait for it to fall from the heavens.

I know that I've called for a supply drop and the commander completely ignores it, but the new batch of commanders really seem to have their sh*t wired. At least that's what I've seen.

I agree that you shoud be able to fit 6 in a Humvee. Driver, Gunner, .50 cal gunner and three in the back

Some maps I think don't have vehicle drops. That, or the commander is an arse.

I concur with vikingo.

The vehicle drop is one thing, but allowing full squads to spawn transport *once per game* will allow squads at the beginning to get together and make sure they have the correct kits without needing to "Run to the hummer".

Once the squad is ready to move out, then the SL can spawn their squad vehicle and they can move out. It is much more ordered. I like it.

Thumbs up to the OP.

Love the idea! Keeps squads together and responsible for their own vehicles.

I had suggested pretty much the same idea a little while back but it didn't really get much attention. I suggested that your SL could request the vehicle only at the main base flag radius be it a drop or simply appear. Locked to squad etc.

I suggested that the vehicles could be re-requested on a 10-15 minute timer but if it's only a one shot deal that works to.

So for sure +1 from me

Sure, i mean with the bigger maps this has got to be a good thing, right?

To be honest, I'd be the suprise if the DEVs hadn't got this on their list of 'things to do' :) IMO, seems to fit in well with what it seems like they're heading for

No disrespect, but I think that one of the intentions of this thread was to get the DEVs word on things :)

I hate that, the guy doesn't know everyone else is in the same squad because he can't see the green makers. One negative point, if you are way out in the middle of the map you wouldn't be able to pick anyone up who isn't in your squad, like the commander.

I find it annoying when your surrounded by tanks, one in your squad has to rearm the HAT from a vodnik, and some blue guy gets in it and takes off all by himself.

You know who you are.

The light transport is the most useful vehicle in the game. Its ammo, transport, armour and a gunning position. Nothing comes close to it in the must have equipment stakes. Its also the most fun and exciting to drive.

I like this idea a lot.

The "rogue blue" also has no effing idea where the squad's going or what its intentions are.

Dead weight IMHO.

How about locking a jeep to a squad, like you lock vehicles to a team?

Of course that would still require "run to da choppa" thing at the start of round, so Ill go with the initial idea :D
