what is the point in remaking something we already have, to make it slightly better when we can make 100% new buildings that give PR a 100% new feel, instead a small boost for the same amount of effort?eddie13 wrote:More Pics of Buildings which would be good to re model.

@BetterDeadThanRed, PoE aint "modding" the buildings, they are making new ones, like we are...

Well, first of all, the buildings you showed us can hardly be classified as "High Rise". Secondly, I approve of the Devs making some new statics, with an interior or not. I kinda liked the look of the second or third (the one with the embassy blowing up in front of you) mission in GRAW, all modern and clean with a few big areas like the Plaza with a huge thing in the middle.
This signature is here due to lack of imagination.

Is anyone else dreaming of launching an AT4 into the side of a hotel, blowing a hole in it, and having a dizzy and dazed insurgent walk out only to be shot in the face by a single pistol shot. Oh, god i love you devs!
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch, liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.

'[R-DEV wrote:matt.b']I do for one, & so do those winking devs a few posts upI made some big (bigger than those examples you posted) fully-enterable multistorey buildngs recently that should make an appearance in 0.7, along with other new stuff to extend the mec city statics. They cut down on server lag by having the floors as stacked clones (several variants that can be mixed together) so you're not calculating collisions for the whole structure, plus all that instanced geometry helps too. Irontaxi is also making some great statics so you've got a lot of new stuff to look forwards to...
sounds good imo

we aint going to make these buildings distructible, would be far, far too complicated and would take up loads of resources.Maverick--113 wrote:Is anyone else dreaming of launching an AT4 into the side of a hotel, blowing a hole in it, and having a dizzy and dazed insurgent walk out only to be shot in the face by a single pistol shot. We already got that, but Insurgents bleed out in the house dustMaverick--113 wrote:Is anyone else dreaming of launching an AT4 into the side of a hotel, blowing a hole in it, and having a dizzy and dazed insurgent walk out only to be shot in the face by a single pistol shot. Actually he's referring to the olympic sized swimming pool in the abandoned town of Pripyat, near Chernobyl.
Here's a pic of it in real life

Eerie isn't it. I think there's a post of the WIP model for this on the PoE website.
I'd recommend these pages too - really interesting.
[R-MOD]Cp: epoch if I wasn't dancing right now I'd shoot you.
