respawn time

How many seconds are you thinkin of putting the respawn time?
I'm asking because on the JO server that I'm running I started with 120 secs respawn time...then people where complaining dropped down to 60 and eventually to 30 which seems to be a sweet spot. Although no tags, friendlies on and all that stuff seems to go down ok to people...respawn time is a bit of a debate... :)

we want to make it about 30-60 seconds as that is what we would like to design our gameplay around but AFAIK its all upto the server administrators

Something else that would be interesting would be to have spawn time somewhat determined by map objectives. Such as if paratroopers manage to capture an airport/landing strip their team's side would have a reduced spawn time. Then another example could be a demolitions team destroying a bridge that slows down the enemies spawn time.

Spawn time is controlled by the Server administrator, but if they can get a Server and then put it to the most realistic standards...

how about rewarding the "carefull" players with less respawn time and punish the gun and run with more respawn time...i.e. the more deaths ur getting the higher the respawn time..so next time u'll think twice... :lol:

Then you would get people just hiding and taking pot shots to keep there spawn time down.

If the spawn time is too high like 3-5 minutes then it would be like flashpiont where you are just trying to stay alive instead of attacking.

But if the spawn time is around 1 minute then you would still have to be careful but if you die the penalty isn't that bad so you can stay on the offensive.

Why not make it so players using more powerful vehicles when they die they get longer spawn times then those on foot. Vehicles give you a large advantge because depending on what you are in you can be invulnerable to certian classes unlike being a foot soldier.

Why not make the Spawn times about a minute long, and, make the time to capture a point longer then it currently is in Vietnam. Like depending on the importance of that objective, Like say a bridge you would have to occupy for 45 second to fully take it over, and 30 sec to grey it, 15 sec to take it. I would think that that would make the game more intresting, and also try to counter the tickets evenly... such as 1 main objective, and 2 smaller, the 2 smaller ones (if captured) cancel out the main one.

Kinda tweak that if ya want...but that seems like a good idea to me, or the spawn points will be taken to easy.

Oh yeah if battlefield 2 doesn't do the counting untill you cap a flag please do that. It is really helpful if you a hovering in a helo to get a flag.
