German Manual

Post by l|Bubba|l »

I think biggest content and grammar mistakes are gone.
Especially those that concerning the commander buildings.

One thing.
Does anyone know the health you have after you got revived?

We should have links to guides in different languages on Wiki, something to add below the Search line, I suggest...

Awesome work, Bubba, good effort! If you like I shall gladly incorporate it in the wiki for you.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. ~Voltaire

If you are a serious PR gamer do not put up with the chaotic public server gameplay! There are much betteroptionsavailable. Also, be sure to avoid making these common basic mistakes.

you should be more detailed on the Spawning Point (first thingy).

LIke:

Heavy AT).
something like that.

and please refer to correct die spelling of "Sie" instead of "sie" (caps). Or simply use "du" for a more personal flavour. its up to you

Well, is the great thing about the wiki not that you could help with the spelling and grammar?

nice wiki bubba.
if i might add a few things though
- press firebutton 1 to heal after reviving ( crucial)
- h-at delay is I believe 20sec
- search through insurgent kits = pick up and keep enemy kit?
- the last part of the jets seems a bit confusing about the taxiing
but if its true they have a taxiing speed Ive learned something new^^
- you lose 25 personal points for shooting civi
- maybe seperate paragraf about officer kit and the requirements for setting RP?

1. Added
2. Changed
3. Just pick it up once and change back to your own kit. There is no need to keep it.
4. There were a few lost words in this chapter. :D
5. Added
6. I think the explication in the spawn system section is sufficient enough. But I ad the thing with the secondary radio command to this chapter.

I like your guide and it contains almost all the important things. I personally would have changed the order of some of the topics but since we do not have much material in German it is great to have a very detailed manual available at all.

There are a few spellings mistakes you will surely find when porting the guide to the wiki so I will not go into details on those. I will only comment on the contents on the guide where I feel they are wrong or could use more detail.

1) Spawn System could include the remaining possibility to spawn at the squad leader's position as well as the destructible rally points placed by the mapper. Lastly the spawn cars that the insurgents use should be mentioned (maybe also mention that you should not drive them anywhere else without good reason)

2) Kit requesting: Militia can request crewman and pilot kits (although the pilot is not of much use to them) Also you might want to mention where insurgents get their officer kit.

3) I *think* the pilot kit is not available at the apc but need to verify that. As for the 1 minute limitation for "fresh" vehicles. I understood it that the vehicle must be within 100m of a controlled flag and not have been driven for more than 1 minute. Same for pilot kit.

4) The bleeding out effect starts at 40% (not 50%) as far as I know.

5) Grappling hook is also available for militia sniper kits.

6) The taxi mode for aircraft has the descrition that "Rollen" controls the left/right movement. It should read "Ruder"

7) I am not sure if the bunker and fire-base need multiple soldiers or an engineer but I think it needs more than just one soldier and a shovel. But here I could be wrong so please correct me if needed.

8) The insurgency mode has only 10 ammo dumps on 64 player servers. Smaller servers have less dumps. Not sure if the new german spelling was changed for this word but you used "Depo" 2 times. So far I only knew "Depot".

OFF-TOPIC QUESTION: How does the healing mechanism for field dressings work? Do they heal a fixed amount or up to an fixed amount or somehow differently?

1. Done.

2. Done.

3.1 Where did I wrote that you can request a pilot kit at a APC?

3.2 It's or.

4. 50% is the new level in 0.6.

5. Already inside.

6. Changed.

7. You can build anything allone but it takes more time.

8. Revised.

I think it's allways 20% of your maximum health.

Since the text is gone I can not look right now but check at the section with the different "Versorgungszonen"

3.2 It's or.

If you say so. Still think it is and. I will try and verify it in case I want to include it in my guide when I do the part about limited kits.

4. 50% is the new level in 0.6.

OK. Didn't know that.

5. Already inside.

My fault. I meant scout kit

7. You can build anything allone but it takes more time.

OK thx.

I think it's allways 20% of your maximum health.

I think so, too. Just want to be sure before I write it down somawhere.
Maybe you want to put the text back for more people to write comments on it without needing to download the guide.

Text is back but not formatted.

Try to get a Crewman Kit at the APC on the "enemy" Flag at Kashan desert.

I suggest that the 'Navigation' template in the official guide is extended with a 'Other Languages' section. I cannot do that myself since it is locked. That German site seems well worth linking to and I know for a fact that many Germans will not be able to read the guide in English.

I'd like to see the source for that fact. I bet that most Germans playing BF2 and it's mods will be able to read a cromprehensibly written guide. Not everyone might be able to write one in English but the associated passive language skills are very developed around here.

The main reason why a German guide is desirable is that it's much easier and quicker to understand the game when reading the guide is not a demanding process itself.

Added it to the wiki GUIDE and changed some chapter's.
But it's not yet linked in the official guide.
