Bullet Sounds
When I get shot at I want to hear the bullets whiz past me. I think it would add so much to the realistic experiance.

Realistically, bullets dont "whiz"...
To a certain extent they will. But the sound you hear will only be for a split second. Also, as far as I know, the whiz sound is already in the game. I hear it all the time. But I agree, maybe it should be turned up a little bit.
The sound I would like to hear amped up a lot is bullet richochets. When bullets hit things the sound needs to be a lot louder than it is now. I should be able to hear a bullet hit concrete while running down a street loud and clear. The way the richochet sounds are setup right now its next to impossible to hear them.

Agreed. Thier explosions are horrible. Especially at long distance. Explosions should be able to be heard well over 500m away.solodude23 wrote:I hate the sounds in BF2.
I laways ahve to point out these - amazing. Not saying PR should pay for those, but get a good sound guy. Better sounds could alone make Vanilla BF2 even seem more realistic.

Most of the assault rifles don't sound that bad. The M16A2 for one, sounds very realistic. I've personally fired and heard one many times. Its not too bad. The only thing that sounds bad is the 3 round burst. It sounds too fast. It sounds almost like its firing 4-5 shots.

Hey if everyone donates at least 5 US Dollars through the donate button on the homepage, we can probably get some of the best most realistic sounds a game can have!Cerberus wrote:^Those are the kinds of sounds I want

Sounds are my biggest complaint with most games. Im no sound engineer but it dont understand why good sounds never make it in games.
That demo of sound is what I want to hear when im playing BF. Guns are loud as hell, if im standing next to a 50 on the hummer it should be loud. I actually like the vanilla .50 machine gun sound but it needs to be louder.
Sound adds more to a game than fancy eyecandy, esp war games. And the sound is lacking very much.
When your squad opens up on something it should be shock and awe if you dont know you are about to be fired on. If you are on the receiving end of that fire, the sounds alone should inspire you to dive for cover. The sound of bullets riping past and impacting around you should be frightening to say the least.
Im sure some of you can agree that some weapons are not satisfying to use when it sounds like a repeating bb gun (SA80). I want to feel like im shooting something that will bring death upon thee just by the sound.
M16s/ARs even on single shot are very loud IRL. In Bf they are weak.
Hopefully you devs feel me and will do something about the sounds.

I made this sound clip from a battle in Operation Flashpoint about a week ago. The massive booms (the ones you keep hearing) are tank cannons going bang. The file is about 2mb-ish and you need to be able to play WMA files.

Notice how the chopper sound totally drowns out most of the others when it appears. About 1 min in you hear some Leopard 2 A6's drive by, the deep engine sound is quite distinctive, if not a little quiet because of the chopper going by.

Maybe that sound is the bullets hitting your armor?Doedel wrote:You know what I DONT want to hear? Bullets hitting me! I can't count how many times I'll be running along and hear bullets impacting my body yet I take no damage. Sometimes I even see dust fly off of me. That has to go.
Whiz sounds FTW

Here is a video of what a gun that fires 5.56mm rounds sounds like and does. Notice the richochet sounds. They are quite loud.
