3 Ideas??

3 Ideas??

I have 3 ideas, All of them should be easy to implement and would add to the REALITY and atmosphere of the game.

FIRST. Kick up of dirt when rounds hit the ground,dirt or sand should kick up at times at least 6 foot of dirt and thats no joke. I think there should bigger power effects when rounds hit static objects. I mean I fire guns a bit and they dont just give out a little puff of smoke when the rounds hit somthing. its E.A's fault for being **** and I dont know if this has been covered before. But it would be great if it could be done.

SECOND. Once again its got to do with rounds. usually every fifth round is a tracer and after observing tracer fire for a while maybe every 4th of 5th tracer ricochet's.Not all the time,But in the game would be cool. It would be nice if once in a blue moon 1 could go flying vertical.

THIRD. I think giving the squad leader the option to give a Cover Off Direction Command. In defence situations and also Because im finding myself takin a flag and everybody looking in the same direction and next thing you know an enemy comes around from the area where nobody's lookin and blasts everybody. Its difficult tryin to explain to every individual on VOIP where to observe. It would add discipline to the squad and give squad leaders something else to think about.

Anyways a few ideas.Long live Project Reality.........And if all the above have been covered already.Im sayin sry in advance.......SEARCH.....SMERCH. ;)

3. Have you tried the newest beta?? It has the compass heading on the bottom now. This makes coordination via VOIP much easier on everyone. Any commands added would have to be a direction which you would need to look at your compass to figure out anyway.

Not sure about the other ideas, sounds like hardcoded to me though.

1. Turn your Effects settings up.
2.Ricochets are very likely to be hardcoded, maybe not even possible with the BF2. Having a ricochet effect on the other hand might be a possibility and an annoyance.
3. Actually play the mod.

3.Ive been playing for 4 months now. Not much, But being in the army 4 years now i kinda understand what squads should be doing in a combat situation????

The point is,it is most likely hardcoded, which means that the dev's just simply can't do it with the means they have.

And to the dust stuff..... I would think the dev's already thought about it, so it might well be that it is:

a) not realistic(I'd like you to come up with some sources of the dust-evolvement)
b)Hardcoded
or
c)Just too much work for now.

I was told that it's not the actual bullet that shoots into the sky, not saying that the bullet doesn't ricochet but the glowing part comes off the bullet and bounces even higher and longer. Which ofcourse gives a firework like show during live fire at night time.

Also its the rear end of the of the round which ignite's due to the high temp BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH And your right to a degree Gyberg. That sometimes the ignited part of the round comes of and the flared part goes off on its own. But more times than not the two are still as one.

Some very good suggestions but like has already been said I do not think they are possible due to 'hardcoding' (try searching the forums and see how often this problem comes up!)

About 3) I can relate to that, it is very frustrating when that happens. The cure, though, is not so much a commo rose command as it is to educate players. You cannot go screaming at people all the time anyway - that will give your position away. I am writing a guide about the most common mistakes people make and this definitely fits right in immediately so we can help each other here! :) You can check out the result if you like - there is a link in my sig. I hope you like it and if not just let me know.

You are right, though, that it would be nice to have many more commo rose commands available. The commo rose system is pure genius and we should make the most of it.

One last thing: Do not create a thread with three ideas and a title not describing the contents. That will make it very hard for the people searching to find out their ideas were already suggested. Instead, create three separate threads.

1. We have plans to make projectiles spray more dirt but it's not that easy to work with effects, and it will take a good amount of time to make it work.

2. Don't think it's possible because of engine limitations :(

3. Any new command needs new voice messages to ALL factions and ways to call it effectively. So yeah, it's interesting, but you can do that with voip, other commands or even just typing. So don't hold your breath ;)

I think PR need lots of new effects, explotions need to kick up lot of more dirt etc.

But as someone sad its hard to do.... :-(
