PRMM tips and tricks
PRMM tips and tricks
So I been finding here and there additions that I never knew about so here are some I found. And I keep seeing "I didnt know about that". Any additions would be Cool
1. Tanks and APC Zoom - every tank and apc you can zoom WAY in on the cannon view, I believe its "X"
2. APC - with out a graphic like the tanks sabot and Heat, apc have two main ammo types. I'll let some one else tell you what there are.
3. Choppers - the gunner can still look around with out the cockpit in the way, hit F9. Also the square locking on screen have been taking out.
4. Unlocks - yeah dont use them, from what I can tell they have been made usless or even to the standerd weapons.
5. LittleBird - Cant be locked on to
6. Gunner on tanks and stationary guns - Right click to zoom in.
7. Suprize hit - Not a PRMM thing but when lanching AT rockets aim up in the air and bring it to the armor. Gives the tanker less time to react.
Cheers

Yes the default key for zoom is X (otherwise it's whatever you changed the flare key to).
For some odd reason I was unable to get the ammo switching to work like the tank where it would show you the graphics. APCs have HE and AP rounds.
The nosecam view was returned to attack helo gunners because it was too hard to see your targets otherwise.
Unlocks were not really modded and will end up being permanently locked (unless we decide to use them as alternative kit choice)

Ammo switching on the APC is the 1 and 2 Key I think or 2 and 3

Bleh! I use my flight control joystick for Helo/bombs and the button is on that one. I don't use it for ground vehicles, only the thrust joystick. I think I'll switch the weapon mode over to the thrust commande joystick so I can use it with ground vehicles too. Thx for that info.Ammo switching is the same key as you use to switch ammo on the planes (from rockets to bombs).

I'm sure in reality a lump of C4 over the exhaust of an Abrams will make it into a very nice fireworks show. They do run on aviation fuel after all. I doubt it'd have the same effect on the T-90 as those things run on diesel, as do the Type-94's I think (not entirely sure though. I don't know much about Chinese armour, other than the older stuff the Russians gave them).

I think in prior posts they said it's impossible to code specific areas for weakness like that. The game's engine doesn't support site specific damage. That's why you do things like track an armored vehicle, disable it's main gun or engine. As with all BF games, you tank operates at 100% until your damage gets to a certain level. Only the different sides have different armor values. For instance the rear armor is not as thick as the front
The best thing PRMM did was to up the damage of the AT weapons so they put the fear of Gawd into the tankers. No more zooming up and camping a flag. Armor must be supported by infantry and vice versa if you are going to survive for very long.

A Sabot is a device used to keep a round smaller than the barrel of the gun in place when it's fired. I found this out only a few days ago my self. The round we see in game is, I'm assuming, the APFSDS which stands for, get ready.... Armour-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot. The APFSDS is basicaly a big Depleted Uranium Arrow that's fired from a tank gun using the sabot to achieve a very high velocity. It concentrates all of that kinetic energy on a very small area, usualy a few centimeters in diameter, and pierces the armor.
The HEAT round on the other hand stands for High Explosive Anti-Tank. It too is used to penetrate armor, though by a different means. A HEAT round uses a shaped charge which creates a jet of metal in a state of superplasticity that moves at hypersonic speeds in solid material punching through the armor.
