1.12 Problems
Heres a link of a video I've made (very small 1.5Mb) to demonstrate quickly the bugs I'm experiencing.
You may want to, upon clicking the link, change the view to "800" or original.
http://media.putfile.com/PRMM
I am going to reinstall PRMM to see if that fixes.
Is anyone having glitches with the new patch?
1) map and minimap do not work (mini is blank)
2) weapon load-outs are messed (says I have a heli missle in my AT loadout lol)
3) littlebird is gone in SP (replaced by a B52.... jk)
So whats the plan? hotfix? a whole new version in the making? I really do not want to revert back to old versions etc.
Thanks, and I welcome myself to this community!

As far as I know, the only thing that has been released were server files. So if you downloaded and installed server files it may have messed your game files up.
Also, I'm not sure how a patch from EA Games will affect Project Reality or not, so, until the developers say something on this subject and considering I have no problems player Project Reality what-so-ever, I will NOT be downloading anything from EA Games.

Eh? Why, is it slow? EA seem to skimp on decent servers for everything so it'd come as no surprise if they did for the downloader ahah. I didn't buy it by the way, and I'm not going to.'[R-PUB wrote:Artnez.com']Heh heh heh heh... those of you that bought SF through the downloader are in for some real hell. Heh heh heh.

In protest to such shabby support for the original game.
I've been voicing my feelings on the EA forums too, I think EA's current customer service philosophy is ripping the heart out of the battlefield franchise.
I used to LIVE for 1942 & DC, now I feel like I'm wasting my life away waiting for someone to fix BF2, not only this - it feels like the producers dont even care.
Sorry to flame, I'm just fed up.
^^^^ I'm not referring to PRMM in ANY way, PRMM is awesome - Vanilla BF2 should be relative to 1942 in terms of arcade fun, and it just plainly is not.

^ I feel exactly the same way you do man. Even if BF1942 wasn't realistic, I loved every single minute that I played. Same goes for DC. The gameplay was simple, effective and most of all, fun!.
The game was popular, but it wasn't "CS popular". "CS popular" means that a game creates all sorts of ridiculous features that attract as many people as possible.
Every single game of vanilla BF2 seems so scripted (and it's multplayer ffs!). When I get into a server, I have a set of tactics I always use.
Why do I always use them? Because not using them is pointless, as there is nothing else to do! There are only a number of places you can go and the maps & gameplay are such that the chokepoints are always exactly the same. The battles always end up in the exact same places. I know exactly where to sit on a large server and people will keep running through.. and running through.. and running through.
I dont know how to explain it. It's like playing R6:Raven Shield or Medal of Honor, but with enought space to move armor and helos around. The maps do not feel large... when I play I feel like I'm an ant in a small MicroMachines military toy collection.
As soon as a good battle gets going, artillery is dropped and ruins it. Or a helicopter comes by and obliterates the entire attacking force.
Everything is just too easy. The only joy I get is from sniping in city maps... because sniping is much more tactical and relies on movement (no, not sitting up on some stupid hill or rooftop picking people off and wasting tickets). I love outsmarting everyone on the server because I play tactically, while they play run'n'gun.
/yet another rant

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are other people out there like me...... It feels like we're a fast dieing race, on the EA forums most people hate my opinions & favour the gun-ho approach.'[R-PUB wrote:Artnez.com']^ I feel exactly the same way you do man. It even seems like people enjoy the bunny hopping??!?!??!!??
I think this is like the 'one hit wonder' pop song thing, that 99% of the population love for a few months, then it gets forgotten.
The BF1942 game engine had something truly special (for me) that I cant explain, but made it feel such a raw experience, despite it being relatively unrealistic.
Calling out to all the people that know what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad my thread once again became another discussion. I really don't want to spread the word that this community isn't being helpful.
It's depressing to say the least that I cannot enjoy this mod any further. It was working 100% fine until I patched BF2 to 1.12. I have tried reinstalling PRMM, tried different graphics settings, etc etc. I was even in the US heli and the HUD was in Chinese.
Strange. Oh well. back to vanilla I guess

A lot of the people here agree 100%, that I believe is why they are here. BF2 simply is not a good game, the cap zones that made BF'42 so different from all the other dross out there have been destroyed by EA and the seemingly vast number of tards, who just don't understand the concept of good gameplay. BF'42 like you both said was simple effective fun, it didn't try to be clever, it left that to the players. BF2 with it's point and click arty and super powered helos just kill the joy. Part of the problem is the tiny maps, which just don't support the equipment which has been put on it, not to mention that the equipment is rarley even close to being realistic and the fact that you can empty an entire clip into someone at point blank range only to find that the wild deviation meant you hit nothing. The developers don't give a toss about whether the game is good, bad or indifferent, they just want your hard earned cash. I personaly thought this game would signal the death knell of the BF franchise, however having visited a number of forums, it seems that the populice love it and won't hear a bad word against it. We are a dieing breed, perhaps our time has come and gone, personaly I can't understand why the community supports this POS so hard. Hell they released a patch to fix an expansion on the same day they released the expansion, surely that tells you something about the care or rather lack of which went into making this game.
I guess we have to remember that the majority of people playing this game are 14 - 16 yrs olds ( no offense meant to those of that age group, who are smart enough to know better ) who have very little intellegince due to being brought up on a diet of shit TV and terrible games, I guess they don't know any better. People just want more toys to play with, more content regardless of quality or realism. PR will undoubtedly make BF2 a far superior game to what it currently is, my fear is that even with the skill and knowledge of the devs here BF2 will remain shit, because it seems EA and DICE are doing everything in their power to kill mods and make sure they make as much money as possible from a substandard product.
BF2 is just another FPS among the many in my eyes now, the cap zones are so numerous and the equipment so overpowered that no talent or skill is used in the game anymore, it's just run'n'gun, just another death match among the many and the idea of unlocks and ranks has to be the worst idea ever incorporated in a multi player game, how exactly does it help build teamwork, when it promotes Rambo style play as everyone goes hell for leather to increase their own score regardless of whether the team wins or loses.

agree. The CO in my clan is waiting for the full version of PRMM to come out to put it on one of our unranked servers. The only reason he got into our clan in the first place is cause it was a MOH realism clan. And I'm his lifeline to this community, which means he gets an earfull every day about how this mod rocks.

I actually like BF2 better than 1942. Why? Because they have the iron sights. I couldn't stand the crosshair zoom. Yes, the vehicles are somewhat overpowering but not nearly as overpowering as they were in 1942. I remember maps where there were nothing but people with tanks and rocket launchers. BF2 seems more infantry based, especially project reality which is why I love it so much. Most players do run and gun, which I can't stand. But I still try and play tactically. I know there are alot of complaints about BF2 and it does have its problems, but I think the game was a step in the right direction.
