Hello swines , umm I spent the entire afternoon downloading PR 0.6 via torrent , installed PR mod no problems , yet when it is loading a map the game totally crashes to desktop.
I am joining an official PR 0.6 server here in Australia so assume that server is ok.
I wonder if you guys think I have to waste another entire afternoon re-downloading the file due to a possible corrupt first download ?
I wish some Australian servers had this file for download ,less chance of missing data.
Thanks if you can advise... if you can't then you're a nutter !

These are probably the same people that say "Screw squads, I'm going lone wolf!" in PR.'[ZiiP wrote:DarkJester']How many people leave there torrent program to seed after the download is complete? and how many say "**** you all, i've got my copy, i'm going to go and play it now?" bye bye....
***Interesting note below***
Another advantage of the torrent is if you happen to download from a direct link and you think your download may have been corrupted like a couple of people have had problems with so far, start up the torrent and point it to your already downloaded but corrupted copy, the torrent program will recheck the entire file and simply redownload the portions that are corrupt (note, the pr torrent has the torrent split into 256KB chunks, so you may only have to redownload as little as 256KB from the torrent in the case your file gets corrupted).

Make sure you give it some time at 99.9%, since the torrent client will typically reverify the whole file which might take some time depending on your HD. The file's huge.
Another option would be to quit and restart your torrent client if you don't have any activity on your HD and it's stuck at some percentage.

Already tried, it freezes everything. my torrent program wont respond.
I tried it with Bittorrent last night it got done after about 4.5 hours too 99.9% I left it for an hour.
Still the same, CTRL+ALT DELETE, program is not responding.
Did the same today with Utorrent, left it alll day while i was working, but I get home.... same deal.

However so many people want to and do say thank you to the Developers for the tremendous effort they put in to PR and becuase the Developers want as many like minded tactical players to be able to play the mod; THEREFORE one the damn *u*king best ways to say thanks is allow you torrent to seed!'[ZiiP wrote:DarkJester']I think the point that my friend Lazzars is trying to make, is that although Torrents in principle work fantastically - they don't actually work in this circumstance - ie, the release platform for a new game.
How many people leave there torrent program to seed after the download is complete? and how many say "**** you all, i've got my copy, i'm going to go and play it now?" bye bye....
I'd say a huge majority switch off and don't come back... As much as we like to think we're in this huge great utopia community of simulary minded helpful players... the fact is, we're not.

Here it is, the 4th and final build of PRMM .25; due to a few setbacks we are having to release the patch as a full clean install of the mod (290MB). However we feel that it addresses all of the major issues that were brought about concerning compatibility issues with the 1.2 patch. It also includes several relatively minor tweaks to weapons, new visuals, infantry load out adjustments, and 3 new maps (Oasis, Steel Thunder, and Strike at Karakand 2) all of which come with AAS support. As always we want to thank our community and all the newcomers in recent weeks for their continued support and patience while we worked on getting this fix to you.
Not quite what I call up to date.. maybe someone should point them at the 0.6 Feature list...

At the moment there are 300 people seeding the torrent, and only 600 currently downloading. So, no offense to you, but your theory is ****.'[ZiiP wrote:DarkJester']How many people leave there torrent program to seed after the download is complete? and how many say "**** you all, i've got my copy, i'm going to go and play it now?" bye bye....

We have a great community of dedicated players, and hundreds of them DO seed. I'd say that seeding is not the problem at all, 1 seed for every 2 downloaders is a great ratio.
So, heres the deal. 90% of people's problems with torrents are....USER ERROR. I know not everyone is a tech genius but that doesn't mean you have a right to ***** and complain because some of you lack the capacity to work a program.
BTW, next person who irrationally and without logical argument bashes the torrent release will get pistol whipped. And by pistol whipped I mean I'll warn your ***.
