Ok a few minor minor questions and I'm not sure if its a place holder thing or if its a permanent plan for PR.
I know you gave this British a new couple of pistols and the USMC have the newer one as well. I am wondering but a few things.
With the MEC's addiction to H&K weaponry. Would they really continue to use the MR444? Now I did a quick search but didn't find much on the fact. So I'll leave that one up to you. However.
The insurgent forces using and issuing a handgun that I believe you pay more for then an AK-47?! This isn't right! (in my opinion only.) Wouldn't the Tokarev TT or the soviet produced Makarov PMM make more sense? Due to there wide spread production and cheap price tag. I just feel it should fit better with the AK-47. Now if this or something else is planned then but of course. Boil me in lava for suggesting it again. However if its not I'll see what I can do modeling and skinning wise if you all don't mind.

Not really, David. 9mm Parabellum/Luger is probably the most widely proliferated pistol cartridge in the world with the multitude of pistols and SMGs in servive that are chambered for it. In the Middle East the most common sidearm among standing conventional armies is the Browning GP-35, and is license produced; 70+ years old and still a contender. Tokarevs and Makarovs are always around there, too; the Soviets were practically giving them out as party favors.David.Podedworny wrote:Agreed. It costs more to buy an MR-444 then to make an AK47. Maybe if the insurgents could get a .45 pistol? They are more common then 9mm in those parts of the world.
Machine pistol sidearm isn't going to happen, EG. HK pistols in use in the ME include the P7M13 and P9S, though.Expendable Grunt wrote:I think the MEC should get this one:

Ideal for gameplay balance which if it was true and was going to happen. (Its not.) The Insurgent RPG gunner would carry something like the Stechkin APS pistol if it was a select fire one. For realistic points of view the VP70 would never hit a modern army. The pistol had no success. Way ahead of its time.
However if it were up to me and I had super amount of time I would issue some insurgent troops the Makarov PMM. Though very old it is a hugely reliable pistol that could stand the harsh conditions. Also since it is the PMM edition the magazine increase keeps it up to modern battle conditions. Also they are officially dropped from the military in 2003. Assuming its a semi-futuristic setting 2010ish. The Russian army should have offloaded the stockpiles of them. (They have been in production for nearly fifty years.) Also following the track record of other Russian sidearms (The Nagant which is still in use. Over 100 years later by many police forces.) They would still be used.
I will do some more research for other pistols but I doubt any really fit the model of it.

I was kidding about the VP hangun. I do like the idea of them using an HK pistol though. Failing that, isn't the Glock series very popular over there? I know it's popular in the US and in the EU, especially the glock 17.

Yes, I said earlier that HK pistols in use in the ME include the HK4 (Qatar), P7M13 (UAE) and P9S (Saudi Arabia). But I don't think these are standard issue for their regular armed forces, possibly for police or other internal security forces. The HK4 and P9S are no longer in production, but the P7 is still produced under license in Mexico and Greece, AFAIK.El_Vikingo wrote:On topic, don't they use HK handguns in MEC lands?
The Browning/FN HP 35 is used by the forces of all three of the above, plus Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman. They even seem to be one of the few things Arab states and Israel can agree upon, as the latter uses and produces them under license. In case you're curious, the ME states not mentioned above either use Beretta or Russian pistols for their primary sidearms. China (NORINCO) also produces HP35 knock-offs for the export market.
Glocks are seeing some "market penetration" over there since they were bought in abundance, along with Walther P99s, for the Iraqi Police. Jordan uses them too, though again, I don't know if this is for regular or praetorian forces. Otherwise, the big three are the HP35, Tokarev and Makarov.

mostly of the insurgents should use 38 caliber single-action revolvers, and some fews berettas m9, both of them tend to be more cheaper and accesible than a makarov
