Constantina Wire

Post by LeggyStarlitz »

Ok, I checked the already suggested and search function and I didn't see this but go ahead a lock if it's already been discussed.

The standard wire that was always deployed (at least until I got out two years ago) was constantia wire, not the razor wire that is currently in game. This has always bugged my because constania wire doesn't cut you up, it does something far worse. It gets you stuck for a very long moment.

I can't count how many uniforms I ripped apart trying to get myself out that stuff. I think it would be far more realistic to be stuck in the wire than being sliced up as that is what usually happens.

Is this a big deal to change?

that would be cool, the razor wire now is too sensitive, if you get near it you bleed to death, perhaps when you in the wire you slow to prone speed?

Agree on that; it would be good if you only lost a small (very small) amount of health, but got severely hindered by the wire.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

I think what the main point is to change the damage so it doesn't cut your Aorta every time you bump the wire. I think the slow movement and tiny bleed is a good idea.

It might not be a simple fix in game. Currently it does damage but does not effect speed. It would have to change to a surface that effects speed, the only surface I can think of ingame that has a speed penalty is water. Now I'm not a Dev and don't know how to mod BF2 so I'm just speculating on the hurdles with this.

Love the idea if it could be brought in. :D

you can swimm in water..

Maybe you could swimm in the wire, simulating the waving of hands and yelling "get me out of here!"

That could work but what if, like with water, you can then only be shot in the head. You would have the guy dead to rights, put three rounds into his core and he then squirms away. I would rather he die from acute razor burn as it is now then have to head shot him.

It can be called Constantine wire as well, I think he just mixed the two names together. His suggestion was that it hinders you more than it hurts you, not that it should be added into the game.

Next time, try reading his post.

Unless you are willing to have the grammar and spelling nazis check your every post I would suggest overlooking mispellings, easier in the long run and we have many people to whom English is a second or third language so .........

Constantine wire is a mispronunciation. Next time, try reading the article.
