Recoil on all 5.56 weapons was reduced.

How about the fire cone? My first match in .609, the following happened.

I turned the corner. I saw an enemy sprinting towards me. I raised my sights and crouched. I put the little blade of my M16 front sight dead center. I fired, miss over his left shoulder. He crouches and takes aim. I fire again, miss over his right sounder. He starts to fire. I fire twice, miss hits the ground in front of his right knee and to the left of his left thigh. I die.

All single shots, adjusted for recoil, about 20 meters, if not less, and dead center on him.

so it's not just me
has snap shooting been severely punished in .609? It seems quick aiming/firing results in tracers flying everywhere but on target even at close range and on single shot.

I notice this at times....but its only when I'm moving\scoped\firing. If i'm JUST croutched, its spot on...if not then sometimes my bullet shoots wide.

I still feel that the 3-round burst, specially on the zoomed M16 is harder to control than full auto on the other guns, but maybe that its just me.

Agreed. The only time I use that 3-round burst is when clearing areas in close quarters combat.

With full-auto, I'll use that as the default option unless I'm taking aim at someone far away. Then I switch to single-shot.

In my hands at least, the 3 shot burst is totally worthless in anything other than clearing rooms. I rarely use it.

Your problem lies in the fact that you're running around a corner, bumping into an enemy trooper and NOT pulling the trigger repeatedly on 3-round burst to load 9-12 shots into him asap.

In any situation where I think I'm likely to run into someone at point-blank, I switch to either tripples or full auto, if available.

Screw ammo conservation, if there's some SoB at 10 metres out I'm going to fill the air with lead until he drops.

Yeah, but lately, getting into fire fights with those G3s, sometimes semi-auto doesn't quite cut it. Oh well, gotta practice.

Those G3s are brutal to go up against. I almost always try to engage them from range or out of direct line of sight, like with grenades.

Head to head against a G3 is suicide. I look at it like a dogfight; you need to leverage your strengths to win. You and your enemy are not equals.

Agreed, on certain maps like Jabal, its easier to flank or avoid head-to-head confrontation than others like Operation Phoenix where its more urban and close quarters.

But sometimes, you just cant avoid it, and then it gets real frustrating :-P

Well said. The rounds used in the G3 have far more stopping power, that's what is being simulated.

With 8 mags there is really no need to conserve ammo.

The M4 is lethal in CQB and medium range, I prefer the open sight picture over the M-16 Irons, which restrict view to the sides.

im agree with u scarface

about the zoomed m16, its hard to hit someone with the ironsight on the middle. and those bullets dont go that wid, just have to control the recoil, i have killed more people with ease at midrange using 3burst mode

How come all the other rifleman gets a scope except for US?
Is the US army stingy on scopes?

Unscoped full auto for me in that situation. Works well.
Realistic too.

The Marines are getting scopes next release. *hopefully and to my understanding, If I am incorrect oops but thats what I've been hearing*

I wouldn't worry about the scope balance, its a pain now but won't be for TO much longer ;-)

The M16A2 of the rifleman has a 4x zoom iron sight. That's because it's a placeholder untill v0.7, when the M16A4 comes in, which has a scope on it.
