Lol, I'm not saying Vikingo isn't kick *** at what he does at all. Its amazing he is so dedicated...everytime I look at that search list of his I say "Damn I'm glad its not my job to update that thing."
Big moose...yeah fast roping is just a metaphor for commonly suggested things...it used to be everywhere though. I haven't seen much of the crappy posts lately either...theres a lot of good discussion going on.

I searched fastrope, and it came up with 31 results, 2-3 of which were actual discussions on fast roping.
I searched for 'search' and came up with 500 results (is there a cap on search results?). I hate to think how many of those discussions could have gone somewhere useful, but were ruined by people screaming 'search!!'.
Just seems a waste of time even having a forum is all, if new people cant discuss things discussed by others in a new thread.
I see pros here, on bringing up old topics with new threads, but no cons to it.
I see cons with people halting discussions with the phrase 'use search', though.

lol, i like your optimistic outlookVipersGhost wrote:You know I've posted a lot of stupid posts in a lot of forums i'm sure. They always are just ignored, which sucks. In the end its definitely nice(here) to at least get a horde of guys responding to your post...even if its drastically rejected...way better than being ignored.

K-PWN!
2 minute search.
There is no discussing it, because it's been discussed before many times.

If you are reading this dont stop, cause if you do, I'll kick you in the balls.

Put it another way.
It's your first day as an intern at NASA and you deliver a list of improvements to the engineers in charge of the shuttle.
How do you think that would be recieved ?

On your first day ?
Without really knowing anything about the mechanics of how the company works or what is involved in creating the product.
When people who have played the game and read a little about the coding suggest something it is recieved in a very different way.
I think people have been much nicer this release, maybe because in the weeks prior to release there was a spate of foolish suggestions and some people just gave up on bashing the ignorant.

I would say that telling people to search a topic that has already been suggested is not limiting the disscusion of ideas. It is bringing people up to speed on the topic and perhaps saving them some time. As well it may give them some incite into what direction to go with their idea. If they have no clue about PR or the BF2 engine and are putting out ideas already suggested how is that more productive then reading up on the topic first and then making a suggestion?
I agree that perhaps the "tone" with wich we suggest to search a topic can be rude but allot of times the original poster uses less then a stellar attitude with "their" suggestion.
A final note is that I personally grab a bag of popcorn anytime I see a new person post up a ridiculious or demanding suggestion, please don't take that away from me

I wouldn't mind someone resurrecting an old suggestion thread if he has something new to bring to an old discussion. But simply resuggesting it, without references to prior discussions is bad. If you show that you took the time to read previous discussion and feel that you have something new to bring into that discussion, I really think your opinion will be welcomed.
Resuggesting or repoening and old thread just for the sake of doing it is not very nice, however you put it.
