Suggestion for Oman

Post by Outlawz7 »

I like, how the MEC armor spawns at the top of the map and players have to bring it down the road. However, the USMC Cobras always go check there after some time in the game and destroy all the armor or at least the T90s, before the MEC manages to use them.

I suggest an 'out of bounds' dome of death for USMC in that area and also, put a small gas station with a garage, which is NOT facing the carrier.
All the armor should spawn at the gas station and inside that garage,
1.) so Cobras cant rape that area with missiles and armor is kept safe
2.) to simulate, that the newly arrived armor has to fuel up, before heading into the battle :p

Also, the bridge at the warehouse has one section unaligned, makes it hard to drive over.

The USMC has a tough enough time to win this map.

The idea is that the MEC armor column is arriving in the north to help reinforce.

Use either an AA squad hidden in the hills in preparation to defend the spawning tanks or have your own helicopters patrol the area.

If the cobras destroy the armor column before it can reinforce, good for them :)

Well, at least make a small gas station with a garage, so armor is kept safe, so they cant just send a TVGM and forget about it :)

Very nice map.

I agree with the dev. Deploy an AA team to tie up air threats.

and when youre at it discard daqing aswell.
dont get me wrong, I loved both maps back in vanilla. but that was vanilla.

youre mappers have come up with prettier and more suiting maps.
three of the main problems with vanilla maps are imo
that the main flags are, atleast for 1 team, veryvery easy reachable.
just open spaces between the flags ( oman) which make it impossible for infantry to move.
and they are designed for aerial warfare. but the balance isnt there anymore with nerfed down helos against mobile AA ( which you wont be able to spot in time, NEVER) and a shi*tload of stationary AA.

I loved it on MEC the first time I played it.

We did absolutely nothing yet we won. US side couldn't even get off their ship.

Maybe a bridge would help?

QFT!

This map is like Dailan in .4, one sided and pretty boring for both sides. (minus that ******* in the tank rippin up the choppers, hes havin fun...)

H-AT's and deployable AA isn't making things for USMC any easier...

P.S. Jet ski's would be funny to see, 2 marines making their way to the beach, only to get taken out by the 5 rpg's and peppered with coaxial fire :D

If mec try to use the armour instead of waiting on the airfield, it could easily win the map

ive seen this one by both sides a couple times now.... please post more suggestion on what needs balancing

it is SUPPOSE to be a challenge for USMC. if they tard rush this map, they will die.

if they make some kind of battle plan, things will turn out alot better for them.without a commander on this map the USMC are doomed.

Its not suppose to be a 'pick up and play' type map, its suppose to be a map where 2 organised forces fight each other. if we kept it to original vanilla settings we would not have included it....

a tunguska will be REALLY apreciated , i mean , who in hell will send an armor reinforce without antiair defends ?

also , an Amphibious assault need ship support , but since we dont have ships in the map , arty support will be really apreciated as well.

Agreed with the Arty but vanilla bf2 arty is terrible so we until PR gets its own version of arty this will have to wait

will think about AAV for MEC.... dont want the Cobras to be at a HUGE disadvantage though, as MEC still have 2 AA kits which are extremely effective at destroying heli's

TOO accurate for one thing.... Plus I think all the commander had to do was accept the artillery request and have accurate shells landing in one area in just an instant.
