I have a few suggestions to make that the developers might want to look at.

One is an idea I got from the later metal gear solid games. The 'hold up', which would obviously only be possible if you managed to stealthily get close behind an enemy. This is just an idea and I don't know what would happen afterwards, whether the enemy would be unable to move without getting shot, or if he had to drop his weapon, turn around and face the enemy with his hands behind his head, and look for a chance to retaliate if the captor moves his gun away slightly or gets distracted. And maybe the captor would have a choice of commands to shout at the prisoner like 'hands behind your head!', or 'drop to your knees!' (which might not work as different armies have different languages). Or giving the captor a choice to tie the prisoners' hands. Maybe even have a system where the captor should tie the prisoner and escort him back to a base to earn more points than killing him. This is all just a thought I had just now and I understand it would be painstakingly difficult if not impossible to impliment. :o ops:

Another similar idea is what I though of when playing R6: raven shield a long time ago. Sometimes if you quickly come round from a close corner and point your weapon at the enemies' face they drop their weapon and surrender. Another long shot but might be worth thinking about. Then after this has happened, you could go to the status I mentioned earlier and tie up/kill/imprison/interrogate the captive enemy.

My last suggestion is to do with the rotation of turrets on tanks/apcs. If you want realism, maybe if a tank is right beside a wall and tries to rotate the turret into the wall you could block the cannon by making it hit the wall instead of letting it glitch through. You'll have to forgive me as I haven't tried and tested if this hasn't been done already. But I know in BF2 it hasnt been done.

I know these suggestions are very vague but thank you very much for reading and I hope my suggestions inspire you if nothing else.

But it does sound nice and in SP I think it would work well.

Capturing is horrible, has anyone played SWAT4?

Tank Turret Jam? Already ingame.


Having the turret not be able to turn in tight spaces would probably require the whole tank to be remodelled to add the barrel.

The last suggestion sounds do-able. You cant drive the rest of the vehicle into the construction/tree, why should the turret have to? But then again, what do i know about being h4rdc0d3d...

The tank turret hitting stuff has come up a bunch of times. It causes the whole tank to explode or something, similar to the blackhawk and it's blades.

Well, IFVs fly 100 m up, if they hit a destroyable wall, and if you launch a HEAT into a soldier, theres a chance he flies about 1500 m up....its a wicked cyber world :p

Would like to see this for soldiers, but thats needs remodeling entire factions...it would eliminate the shoot-the-foot kills, when people's legs stick out the wall :roll:

You know, people have mentioned the whole IFV-flies-through-air bug when you ram it through a destructable, but I've done this a few times and never seem it. I think I'll go try that on LAN now...

Best places to try that bug is on the Destructable Fences.

Drive over them before they disappear.

I exited an APC just after the APC jumped in the air, I spent 15 minutes looking for bandages, since there were no medics on the team (out of 32 players).

Well actually, its because there's no collison mesh on the tank barrels for the current tanks.

The T-62 from 0.5 and the Challenger 2 (played around with in the Beta) both have collision meshes on the barrels.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

all i know is that, after i killed 2 of them the other one Killed me... it was like they had thier own back :|
