More Air / Naval Maps needed.

More Air / Naval Maps needed.

I'd love to See Some Sea maps in this Game, with at least 4 Fighter Jets on each side.

With the New 3d Clouds and the Like, it'd be a shame not to as it brings a new Element to Dogfighting.

The jets are brilliant too - Loving the F-16, It'd be a shame not to Make an "air War" Map on PR.

There should obviously be Some land involved too for a small scale ground war - Eg the Chinese / Mec Air Base is on the Land and will have to defend it - would have to be mountainous for those Air battles Too.

The US / UK Teams Air Base would be at sea, and I think Multiple Ships Should be used to make it look like a Full on invasion and attacking these would be allowed, There should be Transport planes to Drop troops off onto the Attackers Ships ( all players should have parachutes once they enter a plane ) and the Mission Goal for the MEC / Or the Pla is to Take the enemy Ship just like any Capturable Flag on Normall AAS. while the US Teams Goal is to take the Opposing Runway and Gain Air Superiority.

I think it Should be Based around a small series of islands too, With a Flag on each, I think this map should Revolve around Para-Troopers Dropping in and Taking flag, and defending them. Throw in some dingies too for good measure tho.

2 on 2 dogfights are cool, but i'd love to see Air Squadrons - Even anywhere up to 6 airplanes on each side so that we could have full squads in jets for each team.. would love to see the team play and Formation Tactics on a 17Km2 map.

Maybe there could be a few different kinds of planes on the maps to keep them balanced.

If its a stupid idea then sorry, its just my preference as i love jets.

What do you people think ?

Well, because of vBF2 I built up a dislike for jets, but after trying them on Kashan in a lan and small-practice game, I've taken a liking to them after all.

I liked them in BF2 - But it became annoying after a while, not enough land and map size for good battles.

I also like The speed of the Jets now ! its WICKED ! :D :D :D

Mach 1 here we come ( and then some )

^ ya u will land and just fly off the other side. and also i hated flying on vBF2 also. they always crashed o get out of it.

Sorry, off-topic, but I have to ask. What's the deal with capitalizing random words' first letters? "With the New 3d Clouds and the Like, it'd be a shame not to as it brings a new Element to Dogfighting" etc. I'm confused.....

Sounds like An Amazing idea, i Would love It if We Would get a Map like this.
Just kidding orpheus :P

But it really looks like a nice map idea. It's a pitty that a lot of awsome map ideas never actually get made.

But if its a realistic scenario...... i don't know especially the paradrops on hostile ships. They dont do that in the army right?

yeah i do suppose it would be a deathwish in real life .. but maybe there could be a choke point on the map where the US Ship has run aground, making it ideal For Enemy forces to attack it via means of Paradrop .........

This would be a pretty good idea, especially since a lot of people could get the jets, instead of just a few. Since the beginning of the OB I've only gotten a jet on Pub games three times.

First time it was at the end of the round, so I managed to shoot down a half filled BH before there was nothing left to do but do loops, second time was the only rewarding time, I shot down an Su-25, a MiG-29, and two Flying Cows, third time I got rammed by a F-16.

My point is I'd be nice to have a pub game where you could practice flying without anyone complaining you're wasting the only jet.

I dont know about new maps but just allowing previous maps and versions to be played still would be great.
They might be improved by 0.6 but we'll never know till they are given a chance.


I was sorry to hear the AAS version of Basra is not available anymore. I really liked this in beta and the civilians add into it great.

Insurgency is a great mode of play and I even think a few other maps could be played this way but I'd like to play conquest on basra too!


Also some feedback which probably you have allready have but just incase, merlin is causing some weird lag for the pilot only I think also apache was not available on the version I played which some said was a mistake though it seems approiate for insurgency in many ways hence why I'd like to see a full proper battle version of this map remain in play :)

I am bugging the mappers to make a Wake Island 2010 where the actual island is done in real scale (we can almost do this). Would be a 64 sq km map (4 times the area of Kashan).

That'd be awesome. Hardest thing to do with wake is to make sure the USA actually can get a foothold. We used to do blackhawk high altitude paratroop drops, of course thats harder to do with PR, but as many attack options as possible is best imo :)

i dunno there would be 1 jet maximum most likely maybe 2, and the US jets would actually be good this time so i think the planes would have to take care of themselves more.

as for the dropping guys out of black hawks you can still do it you just have to hit the ocean and not the land...

unless they decide to give all players chutes, which imo wouldnt be all that bad considering that there are no tall buildings on that map (i mean there would be a few but not like basrah) where jumping off buildings with a chute would cheapen the gameplay.

but if you do make wake i presume it would be nothing like the vanilla one since there would be that huge military airfield complex...

DIdnt think of that, good point. Unrealistic because they should be hurt but no big deal really. I have a hard time convincining my wussy helicopter passengers of this, they have no idea of the advantages of a quick drop off

to be able to do a sea Bourne operations map PR desperately needs a life size carrier, as it is way too small for planes to land now. however im not the person to make this as im dump at modeling :p .

Nah they'd need proper boats and you need people to be able to swim under the surface and all sorts for proper stealth beach assaults :D This game aint naval in that sense, seems to me alot would be needed and obviously a proper carrier would be a gigantic undertaking.
Could the carrier ever be allowed to move like on previous versions though. Before they assaulted wake island Im sure the carrier gave it a massive pounding
