Yeah....
Its SAFER at night. We have NVG's, the insurgents don't. We have thermals, the insurgents don't. We have air support with FLIR, insurgents don't. Unless the germans don't have NVG capability, that makes 0 sense. Either someone was pulling your leg about going out at night, or there is a vastly different reason.
Well first of all night time is more scary and then you have the boogie man, Freddy, Jason, Casper..... the list is quite long in fact.

In my opinion it would be a great idea to add german forces(one of the reasons: I am german^^) or maybe KFOR forces (where many countries are in). Im sure that parts of the KFOR forces are using the G36.
But please if you add the g36 don't give it to the MEC (that would be more than unrealistc). And please dont make such a **** like dice made in vanilla bf2 with the sas g36... In the description it said the SAS spec ops weapon would be an G36K...but it wasn't. It was a g36c with an longer barrel and a bit modified but not the g36K... i was really cryin as i saw that

Just keep a backup of some AA batteries and you'll be fine!
For NV Scopes, I doubt they'll ever be seen in PR, aswell as the Thermal ones.
Anyway, what is this obsession of certain guns that people really need to see in PR? Ithink someone's been playing too much GRAW2.

If you don't know - don't say . In SF SAS specops are armed with G36KE\picatinny rail instead of carrying handle with scopeSerox wrote:In my opinion it would be a great idea to add german forces(one of the reasons: I am german^^) or maybe KFOR forces (where many countries are in). The obsession probably comes from the desire to actually own the gun itself. But since it can't happen during that time, they want to see it and use it in a first person shooter game which brings it closer to really owning it. (Go play Rainbow Six Vegas! Suits my obsessions just fine
)
If you guys want the German forces, get the Point of Existence 2 or Operation Peace Keeper mods to suit your needs.

yeh there was a piece -mini documentry on the news about 10 mins lonf talking about brit troops in afganistan and how they were asking for more support from nato or un countries i forget which because they are over stretched.
they did mention that due to politics it was hard to co-ordinate attacks because some countries such as germany were not allowed out on duties after a certain time in the evening.
was on bbc news which is fairly neutral and credible so...

Fact is: German Troops in Afghanistan are a Peacekeeping Force, read: there to make sure peace is kept and to rebuilt this war torn country. This is the strategy that our politicians at home have outlined and they won't change that anytime soon.

thats not what i was thinking of at all. the pics i have seen of the G3 with a scope look simmilar to the ironsight version, but with a small eyepiece at the front. I found a pic, it's not very good, but you can still see the scope.geogob wrote:There are multiple models of Night Vision scopes (both light amplifying and Infrared) existing and numerous accounts of their use.
Furthermore, the G36 was designed to be used with night vision systems attaching directly to the rifle's optics. Here's a quick example from an image I quickly found (thank you google).
That image also shows the bulkiness of the system, somewhat demonstrating what I wrote in the IR scope thread.

im guessing what you showed is the NT scope. You are right, that would probably not be practical, but the daytime scope is perfectly suitable.
