Deer's Sneaky tactics

Post by Deer »

What i tell to my squad when im in mood of playing this tactic myself is to not shoot enemies, untill they have surely seen our squad. Untill then, use your knife, at the best you will find yourself knifing whole 6man squad and none of em noted you untill they died :D

But the mainpoint is that when your 6man squad is about to attack to location where is like 10-20 enemies, its not very good idea to start shooting right when you first time think that you would get 1 or 2 of them killed, because when you shoot 1 bullet, all 10-20 enemies starts looking to your direction which most likely leads to the death of your whole squad.

Another good tip in sneaky tactics is to take enemy weapon whenever its possible, that doesnt pull so much attention than your own gun.

What most harcore squad leaders do, is to make 6man be 1 man, working as single unit, i have noticed that you can do much better if you just tell your squad where to attack and how you attack (sneaking, knifing, grenades, storming) instead of telling everyone gather at same location and attacking same time from there. Because if everyone are near eachothers, 1 enemy can kill whole squad with 1 clip or grenade. Also when sneaking, if one of the 6 squad members gets spotted, the other squad members attacking from different direction gets advantage because enemy attention is being pulled towards the one who was spotted.

Which leads to the lure tactic. As a squad leader its easy to tell your squad to gather up at south side of target, when you see they are ready, you are in west or east side of flag and start shooting randomly pulling enemy attention to yourself while your squad mates gets some fresh meat for their knifes :D

Also if there is another squad attacking from different direction to same target, you can tell your squad to move in silently and try kill enemies silently, its way more usefull than storming in that case.

Don't show your silhouette on mountain sides. Move to the edge in Prone.

If your SL tells you not to shoot at the enemy, DO NOT SHOOT. A lot of people don't get this and consequenlty lead to the annihilation of the squad.

The long way is always the safest (sometimes ;) ).

Don't use the mofo commo rose.
Stuff like Roger that and I need a Medic (especially that one, enemy will come upon you like wolfs on a lamb, when they hear that) can be heard a good distance. Use VoIP.
Also, cut down on TS/VoIP as well, so when youre moving somewhere, you can enjoy the sound of enemies running and screaming and exposing themselves more than a babe on a pole :p :p

I think the point about not shooting as soon as you see a group of enemies is a good one..
wait until more of your squad can engage also, or else it turns into 1vs 10, then all 10 vs 1 as it is unlikely you will take out many before they know your position.

I proned down in grass, stayed still and no one saw me, then I waited for the 1337 SF to bunnyhop past me, stood up and shot him in the back of his head with his own team's Marksman rifle :D

yeah i agree that waiting and moving in silently is the best option. Generally if I think I'm at too long a range I'll just spot enemies on the map for fellow teammates - does that actually register a hearable voice command like the medic/roger stuff as well?

It would probably be a good idea for the SL to use commands such as "fire at will" and "cease fire" since most SMs will just do whatever they feel like.

I'm slowly getting used to being a SL (because I have to sometimes and I don't quit/rejoin squads unless asked to), though you really should know the maps well enough to issue orders and tactics.

I have the most fun when a squad truly sticks together, though most times when I've played you either get people wandering off or seperated from SL/rally point dying.

Sneaking up on enemy is more fun than engaging them from a distance. Also, it's more effective in most casses!
