Let's say I skin every model to "white" skins. That would certainly affect PR, wouldn't it? Not saying yours are white or whatever, but if we are allowed to change the textures, we might as well add a white skin, 'cause if person X is allowed to re-skin, so is person Y.

This is not an offence to you, your skins may be very good (!!), but I don't know what the devs think of this. If it's cool with them, they'll add it to the official release.

Well, since I started skinning for PR, and I played online like on everyserver I haven't been banned or kicked. So it wouldn't affect you nor the people in the server.

I think he means that using custom skins can be seen as cheating, no matter if PB detects it or not.
You could make yourself brightskins, which would be an advantage.

Spush's skins are ok ( actually they even make enemy harder to spot , espessially british woodland DPM & Chineze woodland camo ) , but I gotta agree with iGi's that some 12 year old dumbass may use it to his advantage ( i.e. orange or white skins ) . For future release changing skins must cause PB kick .

Yeah but I still don't see what the problem is, if they want to download it, download it. People will know what the risk is, maybe I'll write that down on the readme for the future releases.

I still can't comprehend why DEV's didn't used Spush's UK woodland DPM for final 0.6(09)

Because they weren't done in time to compile into the final release.

However. I do think all of these skins are better than the ones we have now, and I really hoope we adopt them by .7.

First of all, please do not get me wrong. I've seen the screenshots and like what I see. Let's not get confused here ;) .

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Everybody could make their own skins and brighten 'em up. PB doesn't see that (only screenshots do).

Exactly! I'm all in favour for the PB kick if anything is changed about PR at all (apart from the stuff that you're allowed to edit).

No, the problem is not your skins, they are great, but the problem is.. well, what the guys I quoted above say. People may abuse this and make fake skins.

And next to that, I'd like my complete PR installation to be official. I don't like adding customized stuff, as well as others adding customized stuff. It's weird if one guy uses skinpack X, while another uses skinpack Y and again another uses the original skins.

Again, I'm not saying anything bad about your skins, you've done a very nice job there. It's just that it's unofficial content, which I think should be official, or not at all.

Have you contacted the devs about your skins?

Why should I contact the devs for just an addon. Its annoying how your questioning me. Its like saying that you need permission from a game company to mod it....

When you mod something unofficially, and other players don't have the same content, you have an advantage.

They may be good and work to the contrary, but if you can recognize the uniforms easierly than someone that doesn't have the skins installed, its cheating.

Did you understand now? o_0.

I use these skins as well, & tbh I never thought at all about them being considered "cheating". The thought of cheating appalls me greatly! and i'm gaming a long time now. I also play on a server that they actively check PB SS and, stream to PB , becasue, while I know cheats are out there, they stand a far slimer chance playing on that server.

I would hope that anyone checking PB screen shots would see a bright orange/whatever colour skin being exploited to gain unfair advantage! while I would also hope any examiniation of Spushes skins would leave them thinking, damn where did they get those fine skins!!

Now i'm uncertain, maybe I should uninstall them?

"If" people are going to cheat, there going to cheat.

Until the Dev's address the issue in the future, why get on Spush for something he provided to the community? I use them, and I think they enhance the feel of the game simple as that.

Have you tried exactly these skins ? I'd rather say that they give more disadvantage then advantage . Woodland DPM ( both PLA\GB ) works better for camouflaging then current official ones . US & MEC looks almost the same from distance , while official ones are actually different ( atleast to me ) . Chinese and GB also look very similar .

Anyways , I will use this skinpack because current british woodland DPM kicks my eyes every time I see it ... looks like it was used under sun for about 10 years non stop 360 days per year ...

Yea I have to agree, the camo is way better in spush's skinpack.
I have a harder time picking out people hiding.
It helps give the game a more real feel.
