ziptie handcuff to use on civilians
so the thought of knifing a civilian to "arrest" him just doesnt seem right to me. i mean you are not allowed to kill them but knifing looks like you are killing them. i dont know if its just a placeholder for now until the devs make up a better way to arrest them, but if i not i have a suggestion as how to make arresting civs more realistic.
ive seen many videos of US/british troops in iraq using plastic zipties to bind the hands of POWS/ civilians they catch in iraq and afghan. so maybe we can implement this in PR? heres how i think it could work and i think it would be pretty modeling/coding friendly
a new model would be needed of a ziptie and added to every soldiers inventory {dont replace the knife we still wanna stab people lol} when selected you would basically see the hand of your soldier holding the ziptie.
when a civ is encountered, you run up to him with the ziptie and "use" it, i dont know exactly what this would look like but i think maybe the best thing to do is make it look like your hands are lunging forward with the ziptie open to simulate trying to grab and cuff the civ.
when the civ is "hit" with the cuffs, he would be arrested, {actually he would die because it would take all his hit points like the knife does right now} very important though, is when he gets hit with the cuffs and "dies" that there be no blood, which i know is possible because there is no blood when you die in vanilla BF2. this would make it look more like he just got tackled and cuffed and not killed. then his body would lay there and disappear after a while.
and basically thats it. i think it would look alot more realisitc than the current system of arresting civs. theres 2 things that would make it look REALLY awesome but i doubt they are possible with the BF2 engine.
if after being arrested and falling to the ground, if the civs hands could be bound together behind his back. this would look awesome.
and if after being arrested a black hood would appear over the civs head. they currently do that to prisoners in iraq. but both of these i doubt are possible. anyway what do you think?

Non-lethal Shotguns
Zip-cuffs/Cable ties/whateveryoucallthem

Less lethal shotguns would be nice. I also believe if this is indeed in the game a beanbag like round for the M203 should be considered. Basically the same thing but it'll teach you to aim better.
Another add on would be a tear-gas round for the M203. (How many people can hit a person with a grenade? ACTUALLY HIT. Like you would need to with the beanbag round before suggested.) Because you can't sprint when you are teargased, (in Special forces anyway.) Allowing the solders to go in for the kaniffery or zippertying or whatever. Again don't know coding but it doesn't seem like something that would be to much of a problem since it is already in the battlefield 2 series. My two cents.
Nice to see my old idea still has some fire. ^^
