these are the huge lasers you see often on m4s and m16a4s.
are these possible to create? what would be really cool is to use the infrared laser on a NVG map

Point out and illuminate targets for teammates and supporting aircraft. They don't designate for the seeker heads of laser-guided weapons, they just give them a direction or clearer picture at which to fire.Expendable Grunt wrote:And these lasers do what?
Geobob is correct, they basically draw a line between you and your target that anyone with image intensification/passive NV can see.

I tried to find a way implement this effect with the night vision systems I coded some time back for Infiltration. Engine limitations on the old Unreal 1 engine were just too much.
This could be very useful. But again, if the enemy has similar NV devices, it's clearly giving out your position.
System is also used for illumination. That would be even more handy!
