I supose that depends on how liberaly you consider "military tactics".

When using VOIP I have several times had SL's order people into silent formations to sneak up to the flag before we start a firefight.

As far as convering fire goes, less than just the covering fire, I am happy to see people taking positions to provide it. Even if you are not just fireing to keep people from poping thier head out. when your squad moves, 1-2 people hanging back in cover wating for people poping out to get you truly helps. Especialy if you are swimming accross somthing, or some similar activity where you are wide open yet cannot fire.

Although recently due to a reformat I played a bit on a 'nilla server. That group of retarded monkies with guns makes PR pub players look like SAS members showing off manuvers to the queen.

Heh.

Radio Silence is a must when playing at sneaky pete. Also, rules of engagement when trying to move to a location (Do not fire unless fire upon, et cetera). Fireteams, bounding overwatch, pincer movements, all work just fine and dandy.

I see a lot of "real" military tactics being used in this game. I've used a few myself, and they work.

i have my civilians draw attention so british come to knife them i'm hiding in the grass with 3 squad mates so when enemy comes close pop up and mow his *** down.
work everytime until the enemy is afraid of the grassland spots.

i do exactly the same thing, but without the civilian thing, sometimes the grass can save your ***!, it did that to me on one map, this guy killed all my squad mates...and i was the only one left. so i thought i'd pop up and shoot the enemy before he shot me, and thank god i did, because i think he was reloading and he couldn't see me...i can tell ya, sometimes grass or foilage "grass n trees etc" can save your life!!!.

I must admit on some servers, on some squad, I feel like a complete idiot. They frog leap, and I get berated because I am not in squad formation.

Flanking. Suppressing fire.

Some folks in here takes PR VERY seriously. They threat this like a true military sim. And you really do feel like they odd one out. It is rare, but it does happen.

That can be true in the game at present and some squads have been known to operate like that as well as the commander giving targets to the jet/attack heli.

Yah i agree too, some people take PR too seriously indeed...i mean i can be serious on tactics etc but im not like totally serious about PR...i just want to play and have fun and work as a team, cos thats all that matters to me!.

Im only serious on tactics and such because it helps benefit my team and my squad...and also makes the game more fun to play....
