Green text spam
I think the quartermaster system should be limited only to the person that is requesting the kit, so they see it when they need to, but nobody else has to.
it really takes away from game experience when the text is scrolling with,
"im sorry, no more marksman kits are available. how about a whiskey?"
"i can't issue sniper kits until rienforcements arrive. how about a lemonade?"
"so and so, i've allocated your blah kit [_ of _]
over...and OVER again.
If this isn't possible, can you guys just take it out completely? make it VOIP or something?
IRL, you wouldn't see text scrolling in front of your eyes when bombs are blowing up and suppresive fire is in your face.

You also wouldn't see people talking about a map in the top right of your viewpasfreak wrote:I think the quartermaster system should be limited only to the person that is requesting the kit, so they see it when they need to, but nobody else has to.

I think he meant like the QM having an automatic voice that plugs into your VOIP and tells only you.
like
*requests sniper kit*
QM "sry I've already given away all the sniper kits, how about i give you a whiskey"
It should be like
QM "hell no you lone wolfing jerk,no sniper kits for you"

Its unfortunate but you'll have to live with it. The text you see in the upper part of the server shows up depending on the channel it is sent through.
The channels are ServerTeamChannel or ServerGlobalChannel. Those are the names if I remember correctly (its been a while since I've had to deal with those).
There is a function to send player-only messages but its broken. It seems DICE never implemented it, possibly because they didnt have any use for it (which makes sense), or just never finished it because of time constraints. I believe the 1st option is more plausible because if not it would've been used by them and/or fixed/added in a patch.
In short, player-only server messages are not possible. At least we can send Team-Only messages
EDIT: The "In real life there is no text" blah blah argument is old and already worn out. Please people, stop using this argument to try to make a bland argument more 'convincing'. If you want more real-life, we'll just kick you off the server and format your HDD as soon as you get killed in-game. You can't get more hardcore than that in PC gaming. Problem solved.

Something like this is possible....if EA/DICE take the time to do it. If they dont do it, its not possible. So...dont wait for it.Eddiereyes909 wrote:I think he meant like the QM having an automatic voice that plugs into your VOIP and tells only you.

I'm a little confused. How did you get rid of all the kill messages then? They seem to still come up in the console but are blank lines instead of text, that's all I can gather from it.
If there were a way of curtailing the messages though it'd be nice to see the requests from your own squad, it'd help you make those kicking decisions much quicker.
