Recoil for M16?

Is there any plan to reduce the recoil much? Thats the one thing the M16 should have on the other rifles. The AK and G3 enjoy their stronger round so i think it only fair and REAL to have the recoil taking down on the M16. I my self have fired an AR-15(kinda like a M4) and the recoil was like a little kid pushing me. It barely even went up it mostly just pushes your arm back a bit but its so easy to shoot and im a skinny 16 year old im sure a trained Marine can do better.

So are there plans to reduce it? If not consider this a suggestion ;)


PS maybe you DEVs should go shoot off some 5.56/.223 from a M16 or variant to see how it is.

Well I've never fired a gun before but to me the m16 recoil is realistic.
Who dares wins.

i used the m16 last night, try the engineer class or medic and you wont notice the recoil, the rifleman class seems to have loads due to the 4 times zoom

I loved the accuracy and recoil of v0.4, but when 0.5 was released I hated the recoil.
I don't know if it has been changed, but in 0.5 if you pointed an M16 directly infront of you, then fired off a few bullets, the gun would end up pointing into the sky!! This wouldn't happen in real life, unless you are really dumb or something. If you put it into auto and fire a whole clip, it points about 45 degee's into the air...

That is the actual reason why I stopped playing PR. I know in V0.4 the M4A1 was far too accurate and very unfair against the other assault rifles, but I think they went a bit too over the top with the recoil in v0.5.

I found myself using the pistol more often than the M16 and M4 for long range shoot outs! surely that isn't right???

I wanted to try V0.6, but can;t because I am having problems with Vista. :sad:

Regardless if it's realistic or not, If you never fired a rifle, how can you tell?

theres a ACOG on the way the iron site zoom is a place holder

Riflemen of the MEC vs the USMC. I can still put about the same amount of accurate rounds on a target 150yds using both guns. The G3 has 4 TIMES the amount of recoil as the M16!! There should be a BIG difference in the amount of recoil...yet I hardly notice the difference in-game. This isn't right and I would like to see a solution.

i find that i have an easier time putting accurate shots down range with the g3 actually... Tend to have a higher first-shot-hit chance.

The G3 is easier for most to hit with, its because of the M16 ironsite...but lets not get off-topic. The recoil is a real problem...the accuracy will be fixed in .7. Not that the M16 is inaccurate...just the weird site where its sited in to use the upper left.

G3 -15f ft/lbs recoil

M16 -4.1 ft/lbs recoil

Yeah, I tend to notice that the recoil is a bit much. I seem to have an easier time controlling full auto than 3-round bursts especially if you fire it in rapid succession...

As far as the actual code goes, the M-16 and G3 have the same barrel climb scaling.

Hey, I'm with you, and I got shouted down for it. But apparently they're introducing an alternative model of the M16 next version and the current incarnation is just a place-holder, so I guess I can tolerate really bone-headed imbalance for the time-being.
