Give the H-AT a SOFLAM need a DEVs input

Post by robbo »

Ok this is my suggestion,

When i play H-AT i always have to ask my SL to put a Destroy marker on the tank so i can see its range in meters this allows me to judge the missiles drop but when the SL cannot mark the Tank for unknown reasons and when the Tank i am going to engage is at long range its quite hard and usually takes me 2 rockets to get a dead on hit.

So to make the H-AT task easier either ad a Range finder tab to the H-AT's reticule or give him the SOFLAM.

I don't see any problems occurring with this it should work very well.

Input?

A. The SOFLAM is a laser designator. Not for binoculars.

B. Binoculars would work fine

C. Heav AT rockets dont have bullet drop within any reasonable range.

They don't have a drop, but they do drop, if you don't guide them right... :p

1.Yes it is a Designator but it doesn't WORK as a designator its better for a Rangfinder.
2.No Binos dont work fine, they dont tell you the range of the tank.
3.They don't have bullet drop but after a long period in flight they start to fall and usually hit the ground infront of tanks Apcs.

Increasing the Zoom on H-AT would help too

@ Outlawz, ive had loads of experience with the H-AT in 0.5 and in the Beta and never had these problems. I no how to guide the rocket...

I don't really see what the problem is. I have had no real trouble hitting tanks at the edge of visual range on Kashan, you just have to steer up at the start and then down near the end.

Yeh, SPOTTING the tanks in the first place is half the battle.

.5 had double zoom on the HAT, which I sort of miss, even if it was a bug.

I'd like to see an actual aimpoint on the HAT scope thingy. Hitting small things (ie, tanks really far away) with that stupid circle is annoying.

Not to hijack this topic but sniper kit should get a SOFLAM. Coz i really want to know the distance when sniping so i can adjust for buller drop.

But HAT should get the double zoom back :)

Thats what having a spotter is for ;-)

Either the HAT gets double zoom or gets SOFLAM is the question.

Yeh, lowering the splash damage would ruin it you wouldn't be able to fire them inside bunkers and use them as bunker busters.

I'm sorry but i don't no what all the bitching about the H-AT sniping was because wow you got killed by H-AT thats one valuable rocket on one infantry man thats saved a Tank or an APC so you should be great full.

Either Double Zoom and New Reticule or SOFLAM and a New Reticule... saying that i have no problem with hitting tanks on edge of view distance with the current one.

Eh... How does a spotter help me to guess the distance to the target better?

:d uh: Your spotter is suppose spot out targets, find the range and notify you so you can adjust accordingly...Not you spending your time to find.... oh never mind, just stop playing sniper.
